Servius Tullius was the sixth legendary king of Rome, is believed to have ruled from around 578 BC to 535 BC. He was the second king of Etruscan birth, and the son of a slave.

Like his predecessor, Servius fought successful wars against the Etruscans and received treasures because of it. He reorganized the Roman army and built the first wall all around the Seven Hills of Rome, the pomerium.

Instituted a new constitution, further developing the citizen classes and instituted Rome's first census, which divided the population into five economic classes. He used the census to divide the population into four urban tribes based on location.

Servius' reforms made a big change in Roman life: going from supporting voting rights based on the elites to increasingly favouring the poor in order to gain support from plebeians, often at the expense of patricians.

Servius was killed in a conspiracy by his daughter Tullia and her husband Lucius Tarquinius Superbus who would succeed him as king.
