Trivia / Zero Time Dilemma

Go To

  • Ascended Fanon: The idea that Junpei gave a wedding ring on Akane's wrong hand came from a fan's question who mistook the ring Akane wore in Virtue's Last Reward as a wedding ring.
  • Defictionalization:
    • Like with the previous games, a watch shaped like the game's bracelet was made available as a pre-order bonus
    • To commemorate and promote the announcement of the third sequel, a real life escape room is modeled after the games. Fans will get a chance to seek a way out.
  • Development Hell: A brief but nasty one. The game was temporarily suspended from production (basically all but canceled) until the project was Un-Canceled thanks to fan effort. Uchikoshi admits that, had it not been for fan support, he most likely would have suffered an outright Creator Breakdown.
  • The Other Darrin:
  • Playing Against Type: Eric in both languages.
  • Pre-Order Bonus: The Japanese version gets a booklet with illustrations and an exclusive "mystery", and there was a special version where you can get a watch based on the bracelets the characters in the game wear.
  • Role Reprise: Miyuki Sawashiro returns as young adult Akane from Virtue's Last Reward.
  • Trolling Creator:
    • Close to the games release, Uchikoshi was asked to give a detail about one of the characters. Uchikoshi... chose to reveal Carlos took his cat to prom.
    • Uchikoshi has posted multiple surreal "character revelations" in response to questions on Twitter, such as:
      • Sigma has an 18-inch penis that can be folded into a sigma shape. When asked "If Sigma has 9 inches, what does Junpei have?" The response was "9 light years."
      • Luna spends her free time playing Noughts and Crosses.
      • The bracelets look worn because Zero accidentally left them in his pocket when his trousers went through the washing machine.
      • Carlos gels his hair with Krazy Glue.
      • Junpei always wears Calvin Klein underwearnote , and was studying "how to decline a boring party invitation" at college.
      • When a Twitter user named "Wendy" asked Uchikoshi who his favorite character from any game was, he replied "Wendy." On a related note, he's also been known to hit on attractive female fans on his Twitter and Facebook.
    • He has also tweeted stated that there an infinite number of possible timelines in the game world, and he merely "picked up several sand grains and showed them". In response to any question asking if a theory is correct, he will usually respond that it exists as part of infinite possibility, so that All Theories Are True.
  • Unspecified Role Credit: The credits of the game only list a few voice actors for both the English and Japanese cast, but they don't specify who was playing who in-game. While some actors did come forward to confirm who they voiced, some were left to the fans to piece together.
  • Uncredited Role: Like G-OLM from Virtue's Last Reward and Snake from the 2017 remaster of Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, Carlos's English voice actor was not credited despite being, unlike those two characters, one of the playable characters and considered The Hero of the game, and unlike the other uncredited participants his identity was a complete mystery for a time. His VA is now generally believed to be Andrew Bowen, based on voice matching to Bowen's other performances by fans, but this has not been definitively confirmed. Junpei and Diana's voice actors are also not credited in-game, but Evan Smith confirmed his role as Junpei through social media and Diana was fairly quickly determined to be Eden Riegel.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Sigma was initially planned to be one of the three playable characters but was replaced with Diana to avoid spoilers for this and Virtue's Last Reward. He still remains a major character, however.
    • Uchikoshi has mentioned that his script has changed over the past 4 years during its hiatus. There's no telling how much has been changed, although it's likely that at least some of the dropped concepts from Virtue's Last Reward would originally have been followed up here, as well as information Uchikoshi promised would be revealed in the 3rd game in Q&A sessions that ended up unaddressed.
