  • Acting for Two:
    • Zach Valenti is the undisputed master of this, playing leads Eiffel and Hilbert, as well as lending his voice to minor characters like Lambert and Bob. The YouTube AMA reveals that, as it was originally conceived as a one-man show, Zach was also briefly the voice of Hera.
    • Zach's dual-casting meant that the live show "Deep Space Survival Protocol & Procedure" had to get creative, featuring him zipping back and forth around Emma Sherr-Ziarko (Minkowski) every time he switched roles. Luckily, Hilbert didn't have a lot of dialogue.
    • An Actor Allusion is also made to this in the live episode, with Cutter telling Eiffel he doesn't need to talk to Hilbert as he "[has] a feeling [they]'d be having this exact same conversation."
  • Blooper: In the script for "Empty Man", writer Urbina accidentally typed the line "How could dare you" (It was supposed to read "How could they" or "how dare you" or something along those lines). Zach Valenti then proceeded to read the line, without breaking character and with all the rage and drama that the situation required, before realizing that the words that had come out of his mouth didn't make much sense. The blooper quickly became a fandom in-joke.
  • Bonus Episode: Lots, mostly dedicated to character background. During the Summer 2016 hiatus, there were eight short episodes released, each showing how one of the characters came to be hired by Goddard Futuristics. There's also a live show.
  • Bonus Material: Among other things, online scripts, AMAs, and "The Manifesto of the Blessed Eternal."
  • The Cameo: Series composer Alan Rodi gets one of the last lines of the series, voicing Earth Air Traffic Control.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: Urbina's is "Empty Man"; Shachat's is "Am I Alone Now." At least, that was the case until "Memoria" came out.
  • Enforced Method Acting: A goofy example, but when Minkowski's performance of "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General" didn't sound drunk enough in "Box 953", Urbina took Emma Sherr-Ziarko's script away and had her perform it by memory. She didn't have the song memorized.
  • Fake Russian: Zach Valenti performs Hilbert with a Russian accent.
  • Genius Bonus: Many of the characters' names reference famous mathematicians and physicists: Hermann Minkowski, David Hilbert, Alte Selberg, Ada Lovelace, Johann Heinrich Lambert, Liu Hui, James Clerk Maxwell, Carl Gustav Jacob Jacobi, Johannes Kepler. Eiffel could perhaps be a reference to the coding language or Gustave Eiffel.
    • Hephaestus is the Greek god of blacksmiths, fires and volcanoes - and the son of Hera.
  • Harpo Does Something Funny: The background screaming in "All Things Considered" is all ad-libbed, including Emma Sherr-Ziarko yelling, "I'm sorry I called you Jerkobi that one time," in the background of Jacobi's version of the story.
  • No Hugging, No Kissing: There 'is' hugging, but the writing team has been very clear that there will be no romance between any of the main characters.
  • Vocal Evolution: Hilbert's voice has gotten lower as the series has progressed. There are fan theories as to why, but Gabriel Urbina and Zach Valenti have both said that the real reason is just that it took them a while to get a grasp on his character.
  • Written by Cast Member: Zach Valenti and Emma Sherr-Ziarko have both written full episodes. Valenti also wrote the slate of character backstory mini-episodes, and Mission Mishaps mini-episodes were outsourced to various members of the cast (Zach Valenti, Scotty Shoemaker, Zach Libresco, Noah Masur, and Michelle Agresti).
