- Creator's Favorite: Brad Peyton calls Princess Lucy his favorite character.
- Creator's Oddball: The only series from Breakthrough Entertainment to be done in stop-motion animation.
- Crossdressing Voices: Dwayne Hill voices Princess Lucy while Julie Lemieux voices Sammy Fishboy and provides Byron & Beasley's jabbering noises.
- He Also Did: Would you believe that the creator of this show went on to direct San Andreas and Rampage (2018)?!
- No Export for You: The series has never aired in the United States, which is likely a major factor to its obscurity.
- Only So Many Canadian Actors: Features a lot of names associated with this trope in Canadian voice acting, such as Stacey DePass, Andrew Sabiston, and Peter Cugno.
- What Could Have Been:
- The series actually came about because of this. Brad Peyton had been given an opportunity to adapt his Black Comedy short film Evelyn: The Cutest Evil Dead Girl into a feature-length movie, but chose to turn it down and created What It's Like Being Alone instead.
- The show and its characters in turn were originally created as a series of drawings he made to entertain a depressed friend, who loved them so much she suggested Peyton should make a book based on them. Peyton instead decided to explore the idea of a full TV series based on the characters.
- Working Title: The Orphanage
- Written by Cast Member: Dwayne Hill, voice of Princess Lucy, also wrote a few episodes for the show, as did Adam Reid, the voice of Armie.
