  • Beam Me Up, Scotty!: It is a well-known "fact" among reviewers that Shuichi, at some point in the manga, vowed to protect Kirie. He didn't. In fact, he never even came close. This may be a confusion with Yasumi Mitsumura, a character from a completely different manga. Such a declaration does happen in the live-action movie, however, and Kirie even hints Shuichi had already made one when they were children.
  • One-Book Author: Fhi Fan, the male lead in the movie adaptation of the manga, never acted before or since.
  • Schedule Slip: Originally announced in August 2019, the Uzumaki anime was originally slated to be released in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, production was pushed back for next year. On June 15, 2021, series director Hiroshi Nagahama described how the pandemic forced the team to "restructure" their plan for the anime from scratch, delaying the anime again until October 2022. And just a few months before that date, it was announced that the release had been postponed again to an indeterminate date. For a while, the only footage or evidence of the show's production was the initial teaser that aired back in 2019 and a very brief scene revealed in the 2021 video. However, in 2023, a full scene from the show was posted, though again, no release date was provided.
