- Amateur Cast: None of the actors had (major) roles in cinema before. The lead actress was previously playing in theater, while many extras had no prior experience at all. This can sometimes be noticeable.
- Dueling Works: With 22 July, as their main topics are on the July 22nd attacks, but the other one explores the aftermath.
- Throw It In!: According to the Berlinale interview, the mosquito on Kaja's arm was not planned beforehand.
- Word of God: In the press conference following the Berlinale premiere, the director repeatedly talked about how the film is about the danger of far right. The screenwriter also added that the film should be seen as a Tragedy (as the the attack on Utøya was one), hence such an open, non-resolving ending.
