Nightmare Fuel / Utøya: July 22

Go To

  • The scene where shots are heard and scared youngsters start running around. Kaja at once realizes something is very wrong.
  • When we see the wounded boy who says that it's a police officer who shoots people. If police is shooting at you, whom can you call for help?
  • The little boy near the tents. The boy is completely cataconic from what he saw earlier.
  • When the teenagers realize that the island has turned from a refuge to a deadly trap. The island is too small to hide, the small patch of forest is too light to be an effective hiding place (especially for 500 people). It would take 300 meters to swim to the nearby island and 600 meters to mainland, and the water is quite cold, despite summer. And in the film, no boats show up to evacuate people until the very end. This is an exacerbation from reality, as many people did swam to safety, and many more were evacuated by civilian boats.
  • The constant shots. They keep coming from new directions and one can never know the shooter's location before the shots. The shooter keeps quietly stalking the teenagers, then starts shooting and hitting them from large distances.
  • As time goes and no help is coming, tension mounts: why isn't anybody coming to rescue? Are there many attacks at once in Norway? Has there been a coup d'état and the police are really mopping up the Left?
  • The wounded girl. What looks like a small wound from the front is then revealed a huge wound in the back. The girl bleeds to death despite Kaja's best efforts.
  • When Kaja and the others are hiding behind the rocks while the attacker shoots at them.
  • Kaja's death near the end of the movie. Despite the shooter being clearly at least 30-40 meters apart from her, he hits her perfectly with an Instant Death Bullet.
