  • Enforced Method Acting: A rather bizarre and accidental example of this happened in the Latin American Spanish dub: Desireé González, who voices Anaak, had to record her while being drunk by accident (according with her in her Twitter account). By a Contrived Coincidence, the episode she recorded features Anaak being drunk as well, so the voice director took advantage of the situation in order to make Anaak's drunkeness sound real, and it worked.
  • Hostility on the Set: Things between Laura Post and Crunchyroll soured so much that it caused Post to sever ties with Crunchyroll for good.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Stray Kids have said that "it is an honor" to make music for the animated adaptation. Several of the members are actually fans of the webcomic.
  • Schedule Slip: The series has gone on hiatus multiple times due to SIU's health. The longest break going for almost a year between Season 3's 68th and 69th chapters. This hiatus lasted from 6/28/20 to 5/30/21.
  • Trolling Creator: SIU is infamous for this.
    • He creates characters with an Ambiguous Gender (or ones that look like the opposite gender), with everyone in-setting knowing their actual gender yet never bringing it up.
    • He also introduced Quaetro Blitz, a character who looks obviously male... then said in the author's notes that Quaetro's gender "will be confirmed later."
    • He casually dropped the fact that nobody has ever reached the top of the Tower in a QA session, calling literally everyone's goals (and most of that people said about it in the first chapter) into question; and again, this is something everyone in-setting knows but which wasn't mentioned to the reader.
    • He constantly sets up situations he knows the readers will want to have happen (especially at the end of chapter 1, but also constant Ship Tease with Bam) and then dashes their hopes.
    • He also said that constant Rachel "in fact, is a really charming character" once you get to know her, something she has decidedly not shown onscreen. Not only that, but he said so in the comments for the chapter where she cripples Edin Dan, one of her numerous Kick the Dog moments and one of the ones she has the least excuse for.
