Trivia / Tiny Toons Looniversity

Go To

  • Adored by the Network: Cartoon Network has enough faith in this series to show it at least twice a day on weekends. In addition, after "Soufflé, Girl Hey", the show was added to the weekday lineup despite having only aired ten of the 13 known episodes. It also had a marathon on Thanksgiving 2023.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Betsy Sodaro as Dizzy Devil, Natalie Palamides as Furrball, and Candi Milo as Montana Max.
  • Early-Bird Release: The entire first season of this show was released by Max a day before premiering on Cartoon Network.
  • The Original Darrin:
    • After being replaced in the original series' later episodes by Greg Burson, Jeff Bergman returns as Bugs Bunny and Foghorn Leghorn in this series, a necessity since Burson passed away in 2008, and Bergman has been voicing them in new media since 2011, starting with The Looney Tunes Show.
    • Somewhat zigzagged with Sylvester, as Bergman often rotated the role with the late Joe Alaskey in the original series. Alaskey later became the de facto voice of Sylvester from 1995 until 2011, while handing the reins back to Bergman in 2011 starting with the series mentioned above. Alaskey's death in 2016 meant he wouldn't have been able to return anyway.
    • After being replaced by Eric Bauza in Looney Tunes Cartoons, King Tweety, Bugs Bunny Builders, and ACME Fools, Bob Bergen returns as Tweety again for the first time since Space Jam: A New Legacy in 2021.
  • The Other Darrin: Due to being produced 30 years after the original, several of the original voice actors were replaced.
    • Eric Bauza replaces Charlie Adler and John Kassir as Buster Bunny.
    • Ashleigh Crystal Hairston replaces Tress MacNeille as Babs Bunny.
    • While it also doubles as a Role Reprise from other modern media, Granny is now voiced by Candi Milo due to June Foray's death in 2017.
    • Similar to Granny, while it doubles as a Role Reprise from most modern media since 2018, Daffy Duck is now voiced by Eric Bauza in this series instead of Jeff Bergman, Greg Burson, or Joe Alaskey from the original series (justified in the latter two's cases due to them passing away in the interim between series).
      • In a similar case of doubling as a Role Reprise, Bauza replaces Joe Alaskey from the original series as Marvin the Martian (justified as Alaskey had passed away in 2016).
    • While also doubling as a Role Reprise, Fred Tatasciore replaces Jeff Bergman, Maurice LaMarche, Joe Alaskey, and Charlie Adler from the original series as Yosemite Sam
      • Tatasciore also replaces Jeff Bergman, Noel Blanc, Maurice LaMarche, and Greg Burson from the original series as Taz, doubling as a Role Reprise from other media since 2020. In a broader sense, Tatasciore also replaces Jim Cummings, with whom he often alternates the role in modern Looney Tunes media.
    • David Errigo Jr. voices both Hamton J. Pig and Plucky Duck due to Don Messick and Joe Alaskey's deaths in 1997 and 2016, respectively. He also replaces Billy West by extension, who had voiced Hamton in various commercials and video games in the late 1990s/early 2000s after Messick's death.
    • Tessa Netting replaces Candi Milo as Sweetie Pie, despite Milo still being on the show as Granny, Witch Hazel, and Montana Max. She also replaces Kath Soucie as Sneezer.
    • Marieve Herington replaces Kath Soucie as Fifi La Fume.
    • Betsy Sodaro replaces Maurice LaMarche as Dizzy Devil.
    • Natalie Palamides replaces Gail Matthius as Shirley the Loon. She also replaces Frank Welker as Furrball.
    • Kari Wahlgren takes over as Lola Bunny this time around, replacing Kath Soucie and Chandni Parekh. She also replaces Tress MacNeille as Babs' mother.
    • Eric Bauza voices Gossamer instead of Fred Tatasciore. He also replaces Frank Welker and Maurice LaMarche from the original series.
    • Candi Milo replaces Danny Cooksey as Montana Max.
    • Due to Larry Storch's death in 2022, JP Karliak takes over the reins as Merlin the Magic Mouse.
    • Fred Tatasciore replaces Jim Cummings as Cool Cat and Jeff Bennett as Michigan J. Frog.
    • The late Paul Julian (via archive recordings) replaces Frank Welker as Little Beeper.
    • The Latin American Spanish dub suffers a complete overhaul, since, unlike the original series which was dubbed in Venezuela, this show was dubbed in Mexico with Mexican voice actors.note
      • Carlo Vázquez replaces Marcelo Hernandez as Buster Bunny.
      • Carla Castañeda replaces Elena Prieto as Babs Bunny.
      • Luis Leonardo Suarez replace Juan Carlo Vazquez as Plucky Duck, as well as voicing the announcer.
      • Erika Ugalde replaces the unknown actress who dubbed her as Sweetie Bird.
      • Miguel Ángel Ruiz replaces Juan Guzman as Hamton.
      • Betzabé Jara does double duty as both Fifi and Max, replacing their voice actresses, Carmen Olarte and Edilú Martínez respectively.
      • Karla Falcón replaces Maria T. Hernandez as Shirley.
      • Gerardo Reyero replaces the unknown actor who dubbed him as Merlin the Magic Mouse.
    • In the Italian dub, Alessio De Filippis replaces Diego Sabre as Buster Bunny, following Sabre's retirement from voice acting.
    • In the Japanese dub, Kikuko Inoue replaces Hisako Kyoda as Granny.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Many of the replacement voice actors were fans of the original when they were kids.
  • Queer Character, Queer Actor: The sassy, flamboyant, explicitly gay Renaldo Raccoon is voiced by a gay actor, Tony Rodriguez.
  • Real-Life Relative: In the Japanese dub, Bugs Bunny and Buster Bunny are voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi and Ryunosuke Yamaguchi respectively, who are father and son.
  • Role Reprise:
    • Jeff Bergman returns as Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, and Foghorn Leghorn.
    • Eric Bauza returns as Daffy Duck, from most appearances since 2018.
    • Bob Bergen returns as Porky Pig and Tweety, with one of his earliest portrayals of them being in the original series.
    • Candi Milo, while not returning as Sweetie, returns as Granny and Witch Hazel, from most of their appearances since 2017.
    • Fred Tatasciore returns as Yosemite Sam and Taz, from their most recent appearances.
    • Cree Summer returns as Elmyra from the original 1990 series, despite previously announcing she would not be doing so.
    • In the Italian dub, Davide Garbolino reprises his role as Plucky Duck from the original series, as well as Bugs Bunny from all appearances since 2010.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • It was initially reported that this series would be a Sequel Series, the final show would end up as a full Continuity Reboot.
    • The original promotional image for the reboot show Buster wearing what looked like a red and orange varsity jacket and white shirt, instead of his traditional red long-sleeve shirt.
    • Elmyra was said to be excluded from the reboot, but recent promotions show her added back in. The decision to bring her back may have happened during the planning phase as early concept art depicts her as a student of Acme Looniversity and is wearing her clothes from the original series.
    • Pepé Le Pew was initially pitched to be the ACME Looniversity chef during development.note In the final product, he was replaced by Lola Bunny due to the character's controversy in 2021 when the show's first season was in production.
    • The Latin American Spanish dub originally was planned to be dubbed in Venezuela, just like the original series. However, due to the fact almost all the cast had either retired or died, on top of from the original cast only Buster, Plucky and Hamton's voice actors were willing to reprise their roles, note  the show was dubbed in Mexico instead.
    • Several early pieces of concept art show Babs with a yellow turtleneck sweater, Hamton in his clothes from the original series, Plucky with a blue long-sleeved shirt, Sweetie with spiky hair, a t-shirt that's torn from the bottom and no hairbow, Shirley being Babs and Sweetie's roommate and is wearing entirely different clothes, Montana Max and Elmyra being students of Acme Looniversity, Fifi wearing a green turtleneck sweater and had red pupils and Lil' Sneezer wearing a blue t-shirt instead of a diaper.
