• What Could Have Been: The author has posted several ideas for scenes and plotlines that ended up not being used:
  • Mifuyu had serious consideration as one of Yachiyo's Soulmates, but discussions of the idea led to Mel and Kanae taking that role while Mifuyu would take their role as the dead figure in Yachiyo's backstory.
  • There were originally three different ideas for who would be the Starter Villain: Sasa Yuuki, Suzune Amano, and an original character. The third option ended up being the one chosen, and so Akasuki Suzumebachi was created.
  • Nagisa's introduction as a Magical Girl was originally planned on having her help Homura and Mami fight Cancri instead of appearing after the battle, but was dropped because it would have caused there to be too many moving parts during the battle.
  • A scene in chapter 6 would have had Sayaka actually talking to Sora about what to wish for, but was dropped because of advice to not try to turn it into a full crossover.
  • Scenes of Yuma's mother's trial during chapter 13 were considered but removed because cutting away from the fight with Akasuki to them might have caused too much Mood Whiplash.
  • There was almost a scene included in chapter 17 of Kyoko meeting the Magical Girl who would become the Shadow Witch Elsa Maria in the church. The Magical Girl would have been a wandering musician who writes songs about the origins of Witches in order for them to be remembered who is passing by on the way to Kamihama to join the Wings of the Magius.
  • The fight with the Ghostship Witch in chapter 18 was originally going to be another Sea Gull Familiar, but it was decided that the gag was getting old.
