Trivia / The Scholomance

Go To

  • Double-Meaning Title: In the real life legends about the Scholomance, the name is a reference to King Soloman, who was said to have power over demons. If you don't know that bit of medieval legend, however, the title can translate almost literally to Boarding School. note
  • Fantasy Character Classes: Everyone in the main cast fits into one.
    • El is a Wizard, with an affinity for arcane languages and a focus on extremely powerful evocation spells.
    • Orion is a Paladin, with combat-focused magic and a compulsion to go around saving people.
    • Aadhya is a Bard, with a magical instrument and the best social skills of the group.
    • Liu is a Druid, deriving magic from living animals she keeps under her care.
    • Chloe is an Alchemist, specializing in brewing magical concoctions to enhance her teammates' abilities.
    • Liesel is a Scholar. She doesn't specialize in one type of magic, but has a near-encyclopedic knowledge of every type, along with overall thaumatological concepts. This allows her to form different complex strategies that can enhance and amplify her teammates' skills and abilities.
  • Similarly Named Works: Due to multiple references to real life legends about the Scholomance, the name has also been used in a wide variety of other places, including a school of magic in The Dark Artifices and The Witch of Knightcharm, one in Myth II, and ruin used to train necromancers in World of Warcraft (and, as a result, Hearthstone.)
