Trivia / The Nixonverse Retold

Go To

  • Approval of God: Mister Manticore has repeatedly stated his excitement and approval for the series throughout Discord, as well as praising Howard and his team for their talent and endeavor to the project.
  • As Himself: In the credits for Episode 1, James Dean is credited as being played by himself due to the usage of archived audio from Rebel Without a Cause for his lines.
  • Cross-Gender Voice Acting: Cinnamon, who is genderfluid, does the voice acting for Chris Arnoldson, a male character.
  • Doing It for the Art: None of the crew members, including Howard, are being paid for working on the series, rather doing it out of love for THE MONUMENT MYTHOS.
  • Fandom Nod: Naturally, given the nature of the work.
    • Two of the most popular theories of the Last Son's secret identity are canonical one way or another in The Nixonverse Retold. Both "Super Everett" and "Super Dean," as the fandom named them, are shown to be canon, with the Last Son being James Dean and the D-Day Knight being Everett.
    • Molly Avenue was often speculated to be a descendant of the Knight or the Last Son and therefore part inhuman. Here, she's confirmed to be at least 1/4 Lunarian from her grandfather's part.
    • "Chris Arnoldson" started as an inside joke in the official Monument Mythos server parodying the "Mandela Effect"/Graggle Simpson meme. Howard eventually made him into an actual character for The Nixonverse Retold.
    • A tribute to Mythoscord, the official Discord Server for The Monument Mythos and The Nixonverse that was archived a week prior to the release of D-DAY AND KNIGHT is shown in its post-credits scene.
  • The Other Darrin: A variation. Instead of being played by Lev like in canon, James Dean's lines are archived audio footage from Rebel Without A Cause.
  • Outdated by Canon: Most of the ideas laid for the series have grown outdated as The Nixonverse went on, included but not limited to James Dean's identity as the Last Son of Alcatraz, Everett's involvement in the story, and Nixon being originary from the Nixonverse. Naturally, Howard was aware of this possibility and describes that "it'll be interesting to see how poorly it'll age in, give or take, a few days."
  • Release Date Change: The ending credits of ALL-STAR ALCATRAZEAN state that D-DAY AND KNIGHT was set to likely release after the next Nixonverse episode (at the time, D-DAY KNIGHTFALL) was released. Due to various factors in the development of the series for the long-term, the episode suffered various delays.
