- What Could Have Been:
- Pierce Brosnan was meant to be the new narrator for the dubs replacing both Michael Angelis and Michael Brandon starting with this special, but after the announcement of the series switching to CGI, Brosnan declined.
- Gwyneth Paltrow was originally in negotiations to become the narrator and would have been the first female narrator in the entire franchise's history if she accepted the role, she declined however, and Pierce Brosnan would take over the role of narrator instead.
- Learning segments were meant to be part of the special ala Calling All Engines, but were removed and only featured in the DVD's bonus features as the writers felt it would serve the story better to not have them.
