- Harsher in Hindsight: As bad as you feel for Thomas in this movie, you’ll feel even worse for him in the later special Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure.
- Jerkass Woobie: Yes, Thomas is jealous of Stanley and his jealousy leads to the tower in Great Waterton collapsing. But the poor tank engine only wants his friends back, and after the tower’s collapse, he is filled with deep regret over everything he’s done.
