Trivia / The 8-Bit Drummer

  • Approval of God:
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content: Jerod has become popular enough that his viewers make custom content for him to play onstream. Sometimes, viewers even suggest the uploads of other fans.
  • Promoted Fanboy: In January 2022, as part of Miko Sakura and Korone Inugami's 24-hour livestream between the evenings of the 3rd and 4th, JST, Jerod was requested to not only send in a shout-out video, he was also given the opportunity to perform an unreleased track on the drums, which was revealed to be the 24-hour livestream's main theme, "MiKorone x Showtime!!".
  • Screwed by the Lawyers:
    • Due to how song requests work, some songs that 8-Bit plays get muted in the Twitch VODS. However, it tends to mute a much higher portion than necessary, with the muting extending over into the next song that shouldn't face this issue. Sometimes, things that aren’t even music get hit. In the summer of 2020, he had to stop playing licensed music that one would hear on the radio entirely, as Twitch started getting harsher with their DMCA takedowns.
    • Jerod's alert of Wario walking like Dr. Livesey when it came to gifted subs totaling more than 50 got into a bit of a hot spot when it came to copyright. After learning that the music in the Dr. Livesey video was licensed, Jerod had the alert reverted to what it was before, only to later reinstate it after looking into the licenses more and concluding it was safe to use.
  • Why the Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: As a result of the popularity of Fubuki short videos being played on, combined with comments of Jerod wanting to collab with her, people started Shipping Jerod with Fubuki. This made Jerod and his wife uncomfortable about the situation, so Jerod quietly distanced himself from covering hololive related content and asked not to ship real life people, especially if they are already taken. Luckily, this conflict would later subside, with the hololive-themed covers coming back in full force starting with Tokoyami Towa's cover of ERROR come 2020, and as of 2022, he became a part of Miko Sakura and Korone Inugami's 24-hour livestream and recorded a thank-you message and drum cover of "MiKorone x Showtime!!".
