Trivia / Terrifier 2

• Cast the Runner-Up: Leah Voysey first auditioned for Sienna when the character would have cosplayer elements, then read for Ally and Brooke, and months later producer Jason Leavy, who knew she could sing and play, invited Voysey to be the Clown Cafe host (which would also extend to a brief appearance as a nurse in The Stinger).
• Dawson Casting: Sienna is presumably in high school, while her actress Lauren LaVera was 25 at the time production started in late 2019. Elliott Fullam (Jonathan) averts this, being middle school aged just like his character (he was 14 during filming while Jonathan is 12, though this is justified in the film itself as he's stated to be tall for his age).
• Direct to Video: Due to being deemed "too extreme" for UK cinemas, the film got a straight-to-video release in that market instead.
• Sleeper Hit: As noted by The New York Times, the film only cost $250,000 and didn't have any well-known actors, but earned back over 40x its budget. Its predecessor wasn't very well known, received mixed reviews and never received a wide release. Terrifier 2, however, earned much stronger reviews and opened in the top ten, and managed to increase its box office over three weekends despite not expanding into many new theaters. Its strongest weekend was its fourth, after it doubled its theatre count. It had earned nearly $10 million by early November.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The Stinger originally would have Art growing out of the back of Victoria's head. And then Malignant turned out to have just about the exact same thing regarding its villain, and Damien Leone decided to scrap said post-credit and create another one where Victoria gives birth to Art.
  • Heather Langenkamp of A Nightmare on Elm Street fame was originally in talks to play Barbara, but couldn't, due to scheduling conflicts.
