Trivia / Terri Poch

Go To

  • Actor-Inspired Element: She pitched the idea to be the Masked Ninja helping Raven in his matches to Stephanie McMahon herself.
  • Costume Backlash: Her infamous bodysuit at WrestleMania XV. Her intention had been to make it look as if the outfit were painted on. She knew she'd bombed when she saw Vince McMahon and The Rock gawking at her as she was about to go out. Averted with the actual match though; despite it not being very good, she has fond memories of it - as it was still a Women's Championship match at WrestleMania.
  • Creator Backlash:
    • The Masked Ninja gimmick, since nothing came of it. In an interview on a Molly Holly fan site, she said it could have been good but "the ball was dropped with it all."
    • The pudding matches were a borderline case. She didn't like working them, but she did like that a picture from one of them made it to TIME Magazine.
    • She described Tough Enough as "a bit boring", since she got barely anything to do as trainer.
  • Creator's Favorite: Jim Ross states that everyone had "high hopes" for her in WWE, since she was very attractive and could wrestle, as well as being considerably easier to work with than Sable. Unfortunately, her shoulder injury caused them to sour on her.
  • Dye Hard: Naturally brunette, she was a blonde in WWE. She's back to brown now.
  • Friendship on the Set:
    • She was close friends with the late Chyna, and they were travel partners. In Tori's shoot interview for RF Video, she and Chyna run into each other and make plans to catch up later.
    • She travelled with the Blue Meanie too, and they would often prank drive-throughs and gas stations by having Tori pretend to be Bound and Gagged in the backseat of a car.
  • I Want You to Meet an Old Friend of Mine: When she first got into wrestling, she valeted for Raven when he was Scotty The Body. In 2001, she was paired with him again for the Masked Ninja storyline.
  • Hostility on the Set:
    • Raven apparently got annoyed at the fact that Tori knew how their storyline was going to go before he did, and proceeded to cold shoulder her during their segments.
    • Tori also described Nicole Bass as "a bit grumpy" and found her difficult to work with.
    • Ivory took a shot at Tori in a shoot interview but didn't elaborate on it.
  • Reality Subtext: She says she was a fan of Sable and admired her very much - but obviously not to the extent of her on-screen character.
  • Reclusive Artist: Doesn't have Twitter/X and says she's not a mainstream person. Her first convention appearance and shoot interview were in 2011 - ten years after she had been released from WWE.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: An ironic one, as, after the angle with her as Raven's ninja woman was abandoned, she was told to go to OVW for more training. She refused and WWE canned her. Apart from the first season of Tough Enough, where she was one of the trainers, she never appeared on WWE TV again, and left wrestling altogether. How true this story may be is up for debate as Tori says in her shoot interview that she was let go when her contract expired and left on good terms. She theorises it was simply hard for them to bring her back in a storyline after she had been away for so long. Jim Ross later said that her shoulder injury proved to be a problem sometimes - and that if she had gone through the background checks that are done today, it's unlikely she would have been hired.
  • Throw It In!:
    • Tori would be used in a lot of photoshoots and promotional material, because at the time she lived on a boat, and kept it moored near the studio in Connecticut.
    • During her hardcore match with Ivory, the planned finish was for the latter to smash a mirror over her head. Ivory was warned to just leave the mirror where it was after smashing it. But she got Lost in Character and pulled it off, so the shards of glass went right into Tori's mouth. After hearing her scream, Vince joked she was not allowed to scream on TV again.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Reportedly, Tori was originally going to be introduced as Sable's "sister." According to Tori the storyline was changing every week due to Sable not approving of some of the ideas.
    • She was also going to be brought in as X-Pac's valet. He reportedly wanted a female bodybuilder to come out with him. This would have been during his 1-2-3 Kid phase.
    • Her pairing with Raven was likely going to lead towards a mixed tag match against Crash and Molly Holly at WrestleMania X-Seven.
    • Before that, she alluded to her potentially working a full feud against Molly Holly, but "my injury held that back". Suggesting that perhaps Molly would originally have debuted as a manager to The Dudley Boyz during their feud with D-Generation X.
    • Tori and X-Pac were planned to feud with Chyna and Eddie Guerrero, with Tori becoming Chyna's first female opponent in WWF. Her injury led to Val Venis and Trish Stratus filling those spots instead.
