• Acting for Two: Key & Peele voice every wolf in the Wolf Pack.
• Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Katie Crown, voice of Tulip, recorded her character's lines from Toronto, Canada, whereas the rest of the actors are from Los Angeles, USA (although she would actually later move to LA).
• Playing Against Type: Co-director Nicholas Stoller is better known for live-action R-rated comedies such as Neighbors (2014) and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
• Throw It In!: Dialogue was improvised sometimes so much that it changed the plot of the film.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Originally, Hunter would have been revealed to be a crane disguised as a stork according to a deleted scene featured in the Blu-Ray. Counts as both a Stealth Pun and an Actor Allusion to boot— Hunter was voiced by Kelsey Grammer, whose most famous role is Dr. Frasier Crane.
  • The storks would have dropped the babies in a way more reminiscent of a bombing campaign.
  • Jasper would have been head of stork mountain before trying to keep Tulip.
  • There would have been a vulture island where Pigeon Toady tries to recruit some Vulture henchman.
  • Tulip and Junior would've received couples counseling from the wolf pack.
  • Apparently, in the first test screenings, they ended the movie in the style of Monsters, Inc. by not actually seeing Tulip's parents when they dropped her off. This really upset the audience, and ended up being why they changed it around to Tulip having a huge family as a way to keep it from being too "typical".
