- Tsukasa was a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing, who acted as the perfect student in front of adults but was actually the ringleader of a horrible group of bullies (which would've led to him being cursed).
- Mashita started as a cop who developed a taste for killing after killing a culprit in self-defense and used his job to continue legally killing.
- Eita initially was going to be a pedophile who was popular with children, until the developers decided to make him harmless and his relationship with Suzu positive. This is still noticeable in his dialogue, however.
- Daimon was going to be an unlicensed doctor who wore himself out, as opposed to an overworked doctor with a physical illness.
- Hiroo was going to be a mad scientist who enjoyed killing guinea pigs while cackling. However, Miss Zoo did that concept better, so Hiroo was toned down.
- Christine was going to be a cunning egotist who had been ostracized from reporting due to improper remarks and behavior in the past. The creators decided to add a timid side with suicidal ideation.
