Trivia / Spark the Electric Jester

• Development Gag: The Prototype was originally the main villain of the game. In the initial release he's an imposter pretending to be Freom. In the 1.5 update, he's implied to be a prototype to Freom, as he refers to being made to protect the Megaraph which he believes to be under construction. This would ultimately be revealed as what Freom did before beginning his world domination scheme. In both cases, Freom arrives to destroy the Prototype. The former scenario for trying to impersonate him, in the later setup it is implied he's tying up loose ends to his past.
• Dummied Out:
  • Sonic and Tails as they were presented in Chrono Adventure are still buried under the game's code but all of their graphics, naturally, have been removed and replaced by a doodley icon of Spark's face.
  • The final version removed a cutscene after the boss fight in Network Coast.
