  • Adored by the Network: The show had been an MTV favorite even early in its run, but the network would come to increase its reliance on the show grew exponentially in the late 2010s, to the point where they've occasionally aired the show nonstop for several days straight. There are enough articles from major new outlets discussing MTV's odd obsession with the program to justify an entire section on the show's Wikipedia page. Most gallingly to long-time fans of the network, even MTV's 40th anniversary in 2021 wasn't safe, instead being an all-day marathon with no mention of the milestone.
    • It's gotten so bad that in their bid to unionize, the writers behind the show asked MTV to order new programming along with their other demands, presumably to lighten their workload in essentially carrying the entire network.
  • Edited for Syndication: One of the reasons the show is so loved by MTV. In addition to just being a cheap show to produce, meaning that it can easily generate a lot of advertising money in reruns, it can easily double as schedule filler on top of that; because the show has zero storyline, MTV can easily edit category segments out and it would have zero effect on what is going on during the show.
  • Missing Episode: Likely due to rights issues, only 141 episodes out of over 750 are available on Paramount+.
