Series writer T.J. Fixman wrote a bit into the game where Slag's head sings a song to open a door simply because he thought it was funny, but once the game released lawyers quickly came a-knocking at Insomniac's door where they were informed that the song was copyrighted. Fortunately the two parties managed to settle things so that the game was able to stay up without alterations with it even getting rereleased on the PlayStation Now streaming service years later, though it also made the studio become much more cautious about potential copyright issues from that point onwards.
