YMMV / Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: The most common criticism with the game. The whole game can be done in 2 hours. Even when going for 100%.
  • It Was His Sled: The reveal of Dr. Nefarious' return at the very end. At the time of release this was a shocking plot twist for fans, however nowadays it's common knowledge seeing as this was to set him up as the main antagonist of the follow-up installment Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Rusty Pete is the affable best mate of Captain Slag, whose death at the hands of Ratchet made Pete conduct a ploy to revive him. To this end, he immediately starts getting onto Ratchet's good side by helping him find Clank's location, as well as declaring him captain. Once they meet up again, he tricks his own crew into launching Ratchet and Talwyn to where Captain Darkwater is buried, shortly meeting up with the two later to offer his assistance. Planning to place Slag's head onto Darkwater's body, he helps Ratchet out with puzzles using Slag's head before betraying the Lombax and resurrecting both Slag and Darkwater, proceeding to help them invade the island they're on, even aiding in capturing Talwyn later on.
  • Spiritual Adaptation: The game can easily be considered a Treasure Planet game for the exact same themes.
  • Unexpected Character: At the time, no one expected Dr. Nefarious to show up at the end.
