Series
  • Bad Export for You: The Japanese versions of World 1 and 2 are easy to a fault, removing most of the obstacles and enemies from the game, while holding the player's hand through the remaining ones. 2 goes so far as having a ring around the player that shows them how far Pac-Man can jumpnote . While the original western releases had some occasional Fake Difficulty, the Japanese releases are widely agreed to have gone overboard with fixing these flaws.
  • Milestone Celebration: Pac-Man World was released half a year before the 20th anniversary of the arcade gamenote , and the third game on the 25th. In fact, the first game's plot revolves around Pac-Man's friends getting abducted right before his birthday party, and the third game's plot revolves around him being teleported away from his 25th birthday party only to be tasked by Orson to save the universe from collapsing. Averted with Pac-Man World 2, however. It is the only game in the trilogy not to celebrate Pac-Man's anniversary.

  • Author's Saving Throw: The original release of Re-PAC failed to acknowledge the original Namco Hometek development team during the staff roll, something many people online called Bandai Namco out on. On October 5th, 2022, Bandai Namco announced that they would be updating the staff roll to give the Hometek team their due credit. The staff roll was eventually updated in a patch on November 15, 2022.
  • Content Leak: Aside from the blatant Production Foreshadowing in Pac-Man Museum+, dataminers managed to find more unused idle animations for Pac-Man lifted straight from the original game, hinting at the remake's existence a month before its announcement.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Due to continuing legal troubles over the Ms. Pac-Man license, Ms. Pac-Man was replaced by a Captain Ersatz redesign in Re-PAC.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: As aforementioned, Ms. Pac-Man was replaced with Pac-Mom (who originally re-appeared in the Arcade Archives release of Pac-Land) in Re-PAC, due to legal issues surrounding the ownership of the former.
  • Uncredited Role: At launch, the dev team for the original was not credited in Re-PAC as shown in the Mini-Game Credits. Scott Rogers, the game designer for the original version, did not take this well. This was later addressed in a patch that was released on November 5th, 2022, with Scott Rogers later expressing his pleasure.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • According to this POC video, plans for a new entry using the The New '10s Pac-Man Party designs was planned but was scrapped. It seemed like you would have used the iconic fruit as power-ups and you would have fought mostly crab enemies.
    • Originally, instead of rescuing PAC-Man’s family, various Namco characters, such as Valkyrie and Dig Dug, were being rescued. There would also be various interviews with them that would reveal Orson’s backstory.
    • A 3D version of the maze from the arcade title was built but never implemented.
  • Working Title: Pac-Man 3*D and (beta name) 3D Pacman Action Adventure game.
