Trivia / Mid-Fight Masses

Go To

  • Approval of God: Phantom Arcade praised the song "Zavodila".
  • Artist Disillusionment: Dokki.doodlez left the community after she and the team of the mod received harassment for the production value of the mod where the charting and engine had received harsh criticism. Due to the poor reception of the mod and the writing and the characters, the creator ultimately ceased further development and had the mod removed from GameBanana.
  • Colbert Bump: The usage of Dokkidoodlez's characters Sarvente and Ruv in this mod brought many people to discover them for the first time.
  • Fanwork Ban: On August 29, 2022, Dokkidoodlez posted a tweet stating that she no longer wanted any more Mid-Fight Masses content being made. This ended up impacting Tactical Cupcakes' LORE series and other FNF fanworks that had Sarvente, Ruv and/or Selever as major or main characters.
  • Referenced by...:
    • The mod received its own standalone episode in Friday Night Funkin' Logic, and the story of the episode mostly follows the plot of the mod. Sarvente returns in the episode "Boyfriend Gets A Fan Club", alongside Sky and Monika and stars again (this time as a protagonist) in Taki's episode. Ruv also returned for said episode, but dies at the hands of Taki just half a minute in.
    • Ruv was also referenced in a speculative fiction art blog known as Hamster's Paradise, in which there is a "rattile" based on him known as the "monochrome zavodile", obviously named after him and his song. The zavodile lives underground and send low-pitched calls back and forth to each other.
  • Trolling Creator: Mike Geno, the composer of the mod, managed to (briefly) get people's hopes up about a possible return of Mid-Fight Masses through this fake teaser. The fact that this was released on March 20th, 2022 - one year after the mod's initial release - only made the fake teaser more believable, especially considering Vs Sky returned one year after it's release.
  • What Could Have Been: There were many things cut from Ruv's song, Zavodila, from Sarvente cheering him on to a pillar falling over.
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: Much like with Whitty's mod, Dokkidoodlez left the Friday Night Funkin' community due to the hate and harassment, leaving the mod still available for download on GameBanana but cancelling any and all potential future updates. However, the mod has since been marked as private in GameBanana, just a few days after the Whitty mod was deleted.
  • Word of God: Given that Sarvente and Ruv were Dokkidoodlez original characters before the mod was released, a great deal of backstory exists for the duo on her profile:
    • Ruv's full name is Ruvyzvat.
    • Sarvente is The Ageless and spent many years as a child before meeting Ruv and aging alongside him.
    • Sarvente taught Ruv how to sing.
    • Sarvente is the ruler of Hell, but has made a Heel–Face Turn and is attempting to lead people towards God, hence her appearance as a nun.
    • Their second child in the April Fool's update is named Rasazy.
