• In Memoriam: Chapter 9 onwards is dedicated to JewWario (via author's note), who committed suicide while it was being written.
• Outdated by Canon: The fanfic was created a month into Steven Universe's run. Naturally, some major revelations would change how someone today might read it.
  • The fanfic depicts Gems as being an alien race with males and females. In canon, Gems are a feminine-presenting One-Gender Race with No Biological Sex.
  • The fanfic states that Beach City is located in California. In the actual show, Beach City takes place in a fictional state called Delmarva.
  • The fanfic establishes that Gems are originally from a dimension called Mineralis. Later in canon, it would be revealed that Gems are aliens from the planet Homeworld.
