- Development Gag: Edgeworth reconnects with Penny Nichols, a minor witness from the first Ace Attorney game, in "The Grand Turnabout". Edgeworth notes internally that while he spoke with her numerous times, he had completely forgotten who she was until she introduced herself again. This is a reference to the fact that even the development team found Penny so utterly forgettable that simply remembering her name was considered a mark of accomplishment.
- Milestone Celebration: The main reason Frank Sahwit was featured in the second case was because of the series' tenth anniversary.
- No Export for You: Scheduling reasons prevented the 2nd game from being localized.
Immediately after Investigations 2 was released in Japan, the team of developers were disbanded and moved towards different departments to work on new games (in fact, several members of the game's writing team left Capcom altogether to join Keiji Inafune at Comcept), so they were never given a chance to localize it. That doesn't mean that it'll be impossible to ever see it localized, but they can't make any promises. - Recycled Script: The first part of "The Grand Turnabout" is extremely similar in many ways to "Farewell, my Turnabout!", the final case of Justice for All. Specifically, someone (Maya Fey/John Marsh) is kidnapped, someone (Phoenix Wright/Justine Courtney) is forced to give an obvious criminal (Matt Engarde/Patricia Roland) a not guilty verdict in exchange for the victim's release, and the location the victim is being held at is discovered thanks to a call from the kidnapper coincidentally capturing a sound (a cat meowing/a firework) just before hanging up, although here, this leads to the successful rescue of the kidnapping victim, while Maya was taken elsewhere before the police could find her.
- What Could Have Been: A murder case involving a teleportation trick was considered , but was scrapped. This scrapped case was used as the basis for the third Ace Attorney stage play, Turnabout Teleportation.
