Trivia / Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

  • Beam Me Up, Scotty!: Many people claim that Zak Gramarye hid the final page of Magnifi's diary that would have cleared his name and prevented Phoenix from getting disbarred for presenting forged evidence because presenting it would have caused Valant to become the prime suspect instead. Zak never says this when meeting with Phoenix at the Borscht Bowl Club; in fact, he reacts with surprise when told that Valant was suspected of the murder.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: As with all of the 3DS titles, the 3DS port has fallen into this in the West thanks to the 3DS eShop's closure on March 27, 2023. Unless you happen to have a 3DS that already includes the game purchased and/or downloaded before its closure, it is impossible to obtain the port legally, since it never received a physical release outside of Japan.
    • While the DS and 3DS versions have been delisted, the game is still playable in single-screen format as part of the 2024 release of the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
  • The Other Darrin: Sam Riegel - via recycled voice clips from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies - replaces Ben Judd as Phoenix in the Apollo Justice Trilogy version of this game; curiously enough, Apollo and Klavier still retain their original voice actors rather than reusing clips from Orion Acaba or Yuri Lowenthal, who voiced those characters in the same game.
  • Sequel First: In Europe, this game came out before Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The development team considered making the game with a fully 3D engine, but determined that the Nintendo DS wasn't powerful enough to deliver the results they wanted, causing them to stick with sprite graphics. It wouldn't be until the release of the Nintendo 3DS that they were able to go fully polygonal.
    • Trucy was originally conceived of as a trainee ninja, before being turned into a young magician.
    • The game's writer, Shu Takumi, had the idea for Turnabout Corner in 1995, long before the Ace Attorney series began. He brought the concept back for this game.
