Trivia / Gaia Online

Go To

  • Dummied Out: Later versions of the zOMG! no longer include the Mumbler or the Gooey Gramster, however, their designs were later reused for the (regular) Gramsters and the Alpha Grams. They still drop gramster goo if you kill enough of them.
  • Money, Dear Boy: Assumed to be the reason for Julie's appearance and her shop.
  • Orphaned Reference: The way that the game zOMG! begins was eventually changed; originally, you'd start the game on a train and have your starting rings given to you by a guy named Frank. However, the scene in question was removed. This makes it confusing when you meet a character who resembles Frank later, and he references the now-removed scene.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers / Executive Meddling: The fansite Tektek.org - a dream avatar creator used to preview outfits before Gaia itself gained such a function, and highly popular among users of Virtual Paper Doll tools in general - was taken down when Gaia got new management. The exact reasons for this are unknown but what we do know is Gaia execs sent a C&D letter to the user who created it, Tekton, despite the website having existed for as about as long as Gaia did and even having an Approval of God (to the point that the FAQs included a link to the website). According to rumors, the reason for the C&D was because of banner ads (one of which was an ad for Tekton's site, "recolor.me").
