Trivia / Fighters Destiny

Go To

  • Creator-Driven Successor: Developer Anchor Inc. did two more fighting games, Toy Fighter and the unreleased Force Five:
    • Toy Fighter was only released for Arcades and was rather similar to Fighters Destiny, but with new gimmicks like a movable ring, more types of unlockable attacks, anti-juggling counters, and Attack points which can be used for Super Moves or pre-round start attacks. The cast itself is rather fantastical, in comparison to the other two games.
    • Force Five drops many features from Fighters Destiny and Toy Fighter, like the dodge blocking, throw reversals, or the match point system, while keeping everything else intact. Instead, the game simplifies the old mechanics into a three-tier Unblockable Attack (Green < Yellow < Red) / Block (Parry < Normal Block < Heavy Blockstun) system, and a reliance on highly damaging counter combos. The stages are now infinite like in Tekken, the cast is reminiscent of Street Fighter-style characters (although Meiling from Fighters Destiny returns), and every character has projectiles with all kinds of wacky properties... Sadly, the game was never released.
