• California Doubling: Was filmed in Valencia and Lancaster, California.
• Directed by Cast Member: Channing Tatum co-directed the film and starred in it.
• Similarly Named Works: Shares its title with a Ukrainian series, which also happens to be about how a working dog turns a man's life around.
• Sleeper Hit: This film was opening against Uncharted and wasn't expected to earn more than $5 million in its opening weekend. However, it ended up earning the same amount on its opening day, earning $15 million for the weekend, making back its budget in the process. In the end, Dog grossed $61.8 million in the US and Canada, and $23.2 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $85 million, an impressive feat for a wholly original film in a movie industry that had not quite yet fully recovered from the COVID-19 Pandemic as far as small/medium non-IP budgets are concerned. It also did very well on VOD charts.
