Trivia / Django

Go To

  • Actor-Inspired Element: Franco Nero asked Sergio Corbucci to have his character dressed in a black Union Army uniform as a reference to his family name (Nero means "black").
  • Banned in China: The graphic violent content of the film led to its being banned in several countries, and it was rejected by the UK until 1993. It was not rated in the US.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • Finland (video only): My Name is Django
    • Greece: Taste of Revenge
    • Japan: Wilderness Bodyguard: The Sequel
  • Creator Backlash: Franco Nero stated in a 2012 interview that he is "not happy" with Django Strikes Again and called it "a bit flat".
  • Fake Nationality: A cast of American and Mexican characters played entirely by Italian and Spanish actors.
  • Follow the Leader: A Fistful of Dollars was so successful translating Yojimbo into a Wild West setting that the makers of Django decided to do the same thing. And, sure enough, a bunch of later movies then copied Django.
  • The Foreign Subtitle:
    • Denmark: Django: The Revenge of the West
    • Finland: Django: The Avenger
    • Greece: Django, the Terrorist of Paso-Doble, or simply Django the Terrorist
    • Turkey: Django's Revenge
  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: The Big Bad's mooks wearing striking bright red hoods over their faces was to allow the small production to reuse actors from the small cast for large group scenes without it being obvious.
  • Underage Casting: Franco Nero was 23 when he was cast; to give the impression of an older, Clint Eastwood-type persona, he grew out his stubble, wore fake wrinkles around his eyes, and had his voice dubbed in post-production by actor Nando Gazzolo.
