  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original title was "La Tigre dai Denti a Sciabola" (The Sabre-tooth Tiger), to fit with the Animal motif of Argento's previous films.
    • The original screenplay was 500 pages long!
    • Lino Capolicchio was Argento's first choice to play Mark. A car accident on his way to meet Argento prevented him from taking the role. In an interview he recalled that, after some time, when he had the chance to see again the car in which he had the accident, he found the script Argento sent him, which was still stained in blood from that terrible day.
    • Argento originally contacted jazz pianist and composer Giorgio Gaslini to score the film, but disliked the end results, and after failing to convince Pink Floyd to create a replacement score, he turned to local Progressive Rock band Goblin.
