Trivia / Darkness Takeover

Go To

  • Approval of God:
    • Weednose ocasionally gives his chromatic scales to song makers so they can compose fan songs and fan remixes.
    • Fellow mod Quahog's Last Stand has been officially approved by the dev team. Some of the team actually works in that mod.
  • Content Leak:
    • The dev team ocasionally releases teasers from upcoming songs. These have often been uploaded to YouTube by fans.
    • *Aftermath*
      • The first minute of the very first version of this song was leaked on Discord in November 2022 by TheRealMessy by accident. The leak spread like wildfire on the internet, which almost cancelled the mod. The mod team decided to remaster the full song instead.
      • Sometime after the release of the new Aftermath, the vocals for an older version of it were found and salvaged. They show a different version of Peter's voice, which was only used in three other songs since.
      • And even after that, the vocals for the new version also got leaked. Despite the efforts of the team, some users managed to keep the vocals around on the internet.
    • The entire second version of Showdown, including inst and vocals seperated, were leaked by a developer known as Kevin Barkey, and reportedly, two other users. However, it was confirmed that this version was scrapped long before it was leaked. After the information came to light, Kevin was fired from the team, and both of the other users faced a temporal ban from the server.
    • Mindless
      • The vocals for the first version of the song were leaked on YouTube. However, the song was being remade long before they were leaked due to Weednose losing his previous computer.
      • Sometime after that, a user who claimed to have gotten the Mindless Revamp vocals from a former dev, posted an old version of them. Soldier confirmed that this version was scrapped due to his voice not being used for the Guardian, Weednose adding that the mixing was bad.
    • Former team member elliesmellie reportedly leaked the song "Bad Morning" three times. This amounts to the reasons why they are currently out from the team and Discord server.
  • Creator Backlash:
    • Originally, Weednose called out his public over trying to pressure him into sharing his assets. He eventually joined Dul and Crotheon and now from time to time, he shares his assets with certain fan composers.
    • Due to rough criticism, Messy deleted his songs from his older channels. He has since returned, however, but most fan-songs by him are now only available through reuploads.
  • Creator Breakdown: Due to the overly high pressure of dedicating most time to this mod, Dul and Crotheon, the artists, left the development team. The latter has since returned as the new director after MiniSymba stepped down, whilst the former returned some time later.
    • Mini himself returned to the mod later on, although he is no longer the main director.
  • Disowned Adaptation:
    • The VIP mix became this once it was known that elliesmellie exploited their team members.
    • Funny example. Messy, a composer for this mod, officially adressed an Endless cover of Stewie and Brian per request of an user. As opposed to what the one who suggested this recommended,Curious?  Messy commented something much more inocuous.Curious.
  • Fanwork Ban: Using songs from the mod in mods other than fancharts and uploading them is forbidden according to Word of God.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Plenty of songs are completely missing from YouTube currently.
    • Older versions for "Rotten Family", "Death Lives" and "Twinkle" are completely missing from Weednose's YouTube channel. Fortunately, each one of them was salvaged over time, both videos and audios, and some of them have had playable releases.
    • The first three versions of Final Fight as well as the old VIP mix are completely missing from Messy's channel and have not seen an official playable release of any kind. At first it was intended for the third version to be in the streamer build, but it was changed for a version that uses the official chromatic scales. Very few reuploads of them have seen the light of day, particularly the VIP mix.
  • Non-Singing Voice: The characters have their vocals directly taken from clips of the show. Meanwhile, the cutscenes feature other voice actors doing the speaking.
  • The Other Darrin: As of currently, it is known that online actors will replace the original ones, mainly because this is a fan work.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • Messy, who had previously composed D-Sides versions of the songs, as well as other original songs, was hired as a composer.
    • Same story as above with user Crashy Boi, who had made a D-Side mix of "A Family Guy" and then went on to compose the VIP mixes.
    • ColdTea, a fan artist of this mod, joined the mod team after the departure of both Dul and Crotheon. He however was kicked from the team. See Role-Ending Misdemeanor below.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor:
    • elliesmellie, who previously helped with the elaboration of Final Fight, has been called out for taking mods they joined in the direction they wanted disregarding fellow developers, harassing people via other persons over minor disagreements, leaking content from other mods repeatedly, seeking attention through rather nasty ways, and exploiting their mod teams to the point where one developer had to be hospitalized. This information came out from a document made by the latter mentioned. They have been kicked from the development team of similar mods, as well as the official DT Discord, and despite their apologies, they have not returned to the community ever since.
    • Defied with Crotheon, artist for this mod. He had clicked every button in the age confirmation from the Discord server, which led to elliesmellie kicking him over suspects of him being a minor. Crotheon later returned to the server after the moderation team clarified the issue.
    • ZTF, a former composer for the mod, once commissioned a lewd drawing of ZuuNuzzTrash as a female. After this was known, he was kicked out of the team.
  • Sleeper Hit: The songs by Weednose were already very popular, and so were Crotheon's fan-concepts at the time, but when they and Dul united to make it a full-fledge mod, the Internet faced a big boom on views. It still is one of the most popular mods not only about Pibby, but of Friday Night Funkin' in general.
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: The official general chat channel from the Discord server was deleted on a day in which people were making a spam encouraged by the administrators. Many messages were permanently lost, and the backlash for it was huge.
  • Word of God:
    • Weednose has made multiple community posts detailing things from the lore. Such things include dialogue for possible cutscenes, song names, Stewie and Adam West's corrupted designs, and information about other weeks from the mod.
  • Word of Saint Paul:
    • Most information Dul has proportioned about the mod. Following his departure from the mod team, this information may be taken with a grain of salt.
    • elliesmellie has stated that Cleveland Jr is the one piloting the plane in Airborne. However, following their exit from the mod team, this information has not been talked about since other than to laugh about it.
