• Corpsing: In a blink-and-you-miss it moment during the Daylight Savings scene, Donald Glover can be seen bursting out into laughter right as Abed is cut off mid-scream.
• Enforced Method Acting: Joel McHale attempted to do this, but it failed. During the first take of the "Stop letting him make you realize stuff!" scene, Joel didn't warn Donald Glover that he was going to slap him, hoping the reaction would be more genuine. Instead, it caused Donald (and subsequently the rest of the cast) to start laughing.
  Chevy Chase: Nobody...nobody expected that, Joel.
• Fake Nationality: Lampshaded when Dr. Heidi refers to Abed as "the Indian kid". Although Abed is actually Arabic-Polish, as Shirley and Abed point out, Danny Pudi is in fact of Indian-Polish descent.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The role of Dr. Heidi was originally written for Nathan Fillion, who had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Funny enough, there had been SEVERAL roles written for John Hodgman in the past (including City College Dean Spreck) that HE had to pull out of.
