• Fanfic Fuel: A proposed alternate history of the series in which all of the depicted events took place on some level... but in the locked ward of an insane asylum? A field day for speculative/AU writers.
• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Troy saying that Abed is creepy "like present-day Robin Williams" reads differently after Williams's suicide.
  • Abed's Tranquil Fury at Shirley for daring to compare Steven Spielberg with Brett Ratner is actually much more justified after the latter was revealed to have sexually assaulted many women in 2017.
  • Chang's line at the end of the episode "Pitches, pitches, pitches... oh, thank you, Megan" had originally been written as an inside joke, a reference to Dan Harmon's behavior in the writing room, and "Megan" is a reference to one of the writers. Years later, it came out that Harmon had continuously sexually harassed the Megan in question during her tenure on the show (though he has apologized and made amends with her).
• Rewatch Bonus: On repeat viewings it pretty obvious Dr. Heidi got nervous when they figured out Chang kidnapped the Dean, took a few minutes to think of a lie and then blurted out "but there is no Greendale".
