Trivia / Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn

Go To

  • Amateur Cast / Creator Cameo:
    • Frank Klepacki, in addition to composing the game's soundtrack, also voiced the Commando and played one of the cyberspace soldiers in the Nod ending.
    • Eric Gooch, who played Seth, was a graphical artist for Westwood. He even did the graphics for his own character's death scene!
    • Due to Westwood being a small studio at the time, most of the people seen in cutscenes are simply Westwood employees. Even EVA was voiced by one of their secretaries at the time; Joseph D. Kucan, who played the role of Kane, was the only cast member with extensive theatrical experience.
  • Directed by Cast Member: Joseph D. Kucan directed all of the live-action cutscenes; being the only experienced actor in the cast, he was deemed the best-qualified to direct the other actors. The game itself makes a cute allusion to this when Kane is shown "directing" Greg Burdette in a cutscene, in what is very obviously the studio where all of the game's actual cutscenes were filmed.
  • Dummied Out: The Nintendo 64 port, in addition to the four properly-accessible exclusive missions, has several more hidden in the code that can only be accessed through the "BARRACUDA" cheat or editing the ROM, including the exclusive missions from the earlier PlayStation and Sega Saturn ports and several from the Covert Operations expansion pack.
  • Role Reprise: Kia Huntziger re-recorded her lines as EVA for the 2020 remaster.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original plans for the next RTS from Westwood Studios after Dune II was a fantasy-themed RTS, where the factions were humans, wizards, and magical beasts. The theme shifted to modern military due to the belief that fantasy themes were a niche and that it would be more relatable to the public due to The Gulf War which was recent at the time.
    • The pre-release version display on what appears to be a more modern bridge, before opting for a simple bridge design.
    • According to the outtakes of General Sheppard from the 2020 Remaster's bonus gallery, Kane had a more elaborate title of "Grand Exalted Minister" and Nod was actually an acronym for "New Order of Diplomacy".
