- Colbert Bump: The game got some notoriety from non-Castlevania fans thanks to earlier versions of the fan-mod Project M featuring a Dracula's Castle stage based on this game's final stage. Said stage would also be present in Super Smash Flash 2.

- Due to Executive Meddling, Ryōtarō Okiayu was replaced by Mamoru Miyano as the voice of Alucard, as a reaction to Yuri Lowenthal 's take in DXC.
- Joji Nakata took over as Dracula from Norio Wakamoto, in a strange coincidental Actor Allusion: Nakata had previously voiced a version of Dracula in Hellsing, which also had Wakamoto as Father Alexander Anderson.
- Koichi Sakaguchi took over the role of Death from Dai Matsumoto in DXC only to revert back to The Original Darrin Masaharu Sato in Harmony of Despair.
- Miyu Matsuki voices Maria here, taking the role from Sawa Ishige DXC, but due to her death, she was replaced by Chiwa Saitō in Harmony of Despair.
