Trivia / Bunnicula

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Chris Kattan voices Bunnicula, as well as Mina's father.
    • Brian Kimmet voices Harold and Dracula.
  • Creator-Preferred Adaptation: James Howe is actually really fond of the TV series. He's even a consulting producer.
  • The Danza: Scott Menville voices Scott in the episode "Scott Free".
  • Late Export for You: In the case of books - the first volume was published in Poland 40 years after the original release.
    • Later turned into No Export for You, as publisher dropped the series after the second book.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": The books had only been translated into six languages, but the series has been dubbed into at least ten languages.
  • Screwed by the Network: In addition to receiving next-to-no advertising, the TV series was quickly and quietly dropped off on Boomerang, no new episodes aired for over a year. It also seemed to only ever air on Saturday at 6:00 PM EST, which didn't help.
    • A year later, it was announced that the series would be made available on the Boomerang streaming app. Episodes 9-13, were aired unannounced on March 28, 2017.
    • Cartoon Network finally brought back reruns of the show in October for Halloween... at 11:30am-12pm ET, when its target audience are at school; the fact that it was the show's only timeslot doesn't help matters, either. Nor does it help that it would usually be preempted for more reruns of The Amazing World of Gumball (which would end up replacing this show a month later anyway).
  • Real-Life Relative: To a degree. The episode "Curse Of The Were Dude" has the character Patches voiced by Eric Bauza, the boyfriend of series developer Jessica Borutski.
  • Short Run in Peru: Many episodes premiered in foreign countries during the show's long hiatus in the US.
