Trivia / Bride of Chucky

Go To

  • Dawson Casting:
    • Katherine Heigl was twenty playing the teenager Jade.
    • David is a college freshman but played by Gordon Michael Woolvett at twenty-eight.
  • Franchise-Driven Retitling: Before this flick, the films carried the name Child's Play and the number of the movie in the title. After this one, the sequels carried (Insert word here) of Chucky.
  • The Other Darrin: In the Brazillian dub, Nelson Machado replaces Renato Márcio as the voice of Chucky.
  • Production Posse:
    • John Ritter, who played Jade's Smug Snake Dirty Cop Da Chief uncle, had worked with the franchise's producer David Kirschner before in the aforementioned The Dreamer of Oz and the short-lived animated series Fish Police.
    • Kathy Najimy, who had The Cameo as the hotel maid who discovered the remains of the thieving couple, had previously worked on the franchise's producer David Kirschner's family-oriented productions Hocus Pocus and Cats Don't Dance.
  • Refitted for Sequel:
    • The evidence locker scene was going to be the opening of Child's Play 2.
    • The electrocution of Tiffany was how the babysitter died in an earlier draft of the first film's script.
  • Sequel Gap: The film was released 7 years after Child's Play 3, although it takes place one month after the events of that film In-Universe.
  • Throw It In!:
    • When Tiffany dances for Chucky, part of her nipple pops out. This was an on-set Wardrobe Malfunction and they just left it in.
    • When Warren is killed, his face resembles Pinhead from Hellraiser. Brad Dourif ad-libbed the line "why does that look familiar?"
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Julia Stiles was cast as Jade but dropped out to do 10 Things I Hate About You.
    • Gina Gershon was considered for the role of Tiffany Valentine.
    • Chucky was meant to kill Warren by saying "sorry, Jack, but three's a crowd" as an Actor Allusion to John Ritter. They opted not to do it, thinking it was too corny.
    • Earlier drafts of the script had Chucky successfully transfer his soul into Jesse, only for Tiffany to reverse the spell.
    • The original ending was supposed to correspond with a scene that was later taken out where Jessie and Jades trip through Niagara Falls they pass a museum featuring items from the most notorious serial killers murder sessions, to where Tiffany asks "Why isn't Chucky in here?" When the movie ends, there was then supposed to be a scene where Chucky and Tiffany's bodies were now on display in the window of the serial killer artifact museum.
    • There was a planned album of love songs featuring Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly singing as the doll counterparts, Chucky and Tiffany. It was revealed in the DVD commentary that Tiffany was to sing Killing Me Softly With His Song, Chucky was intended to sing House of the Rising Sun, and the two were to share a duet of Hit the Road Jack.
