- The Danza: Once again, Theresa Randle plays Theresa Burnett, Marcus's wife.
- Enforced Method Acting: When Dennis Greene, the actor who played Megan's date Reggie, showed up for filming, he was instructed by Martin Lawrence's bouncer not to look into Lawrence's eyes or talk to him, making Lawrence subsequently nasty to him during their scene together. Greene also wasn't informed of the gun that Will Smith would pull on him in the scene. All were part of a ploy by Michael Bay to make the actor look genuinely scared of Lawrence.
- Fake Nationality: Spaniard Jordi MollĂ plays the Cuban Tapia.
- Fake Russian: Peter Stormare as Alexei.
- Money, Dear Boy: Co-writer Ron Shelton admitted years later that he never actually watched Bad Boys (1995) while working on the screenplay for this film, and never bothered watching the finished version of this film either.
- Prop Recycling: The motion sensors used on Tapia's compound, are the same as the ones used by Michael Bay in the shower room scene in The Rock.
- Referenced by...: This is one of Danny Butterman's favorite movies in Hot Fuzz, and there is even a recreation of the Back-to-Back Badasses scene.
- Sequel Gap: The film was released eight years after the first.
- Serendipity Writes the Plot: Megan Fox, who was 15, was cast as a Fanservice Extra and was supposed to be sitting at the bar while holding a drink but the scene was nixed because Megan was underage, the scene was rewritten with her in a bikini and heels dancing under a waterfall.
