  • Colbert Bump: The 1975 anime received a surge of popularity in 2016 after it was referenced in Re:Zero. Natsuki Subaru set his ringtone to its theme song.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • Italian: Il fedele Patrash (The Loyal Patrasche)
    • German: Niklaas, ein Junge aus Flandern (Niklaas, A Boy of Flanders)
    • Arabic: فادي بائع الحليب (Milk Seller)
    • Korean: 프란다스의 개 (Flanders Dog)
  • Pet Fad Starter: In March 2010, Nippon Animation, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the world masterpiece theatrical broadcast, launched the "Patrasche Fund'', dedicated to supporting projects to raise and spread guide dogs.
  • No Export for You: Good luck trying to watch this if you're from an Anglophone country such as the US. This anime was only broadcast (outside of Japan) in Germany, Italy, Spain, South Korea, the Philippines and the Middle East. The 1997 movie was released on DVD and VHS by Pioneer Entertainment (formerly Geneon) in 2000, complete with an English dub, but has since fallen out of print.
