Pre-series

• An ancient and advanced civilization known as the Lapidarist help provide technology to their neighboring worlds. Upon learning that their inventions were being abused, they waged an endless war only to realize their evil would never stop as they found themselves being wiped out.
  • They then attempt to create a perfect race that will eradicate all evil with the Concretes and Metals being failed attempts. They then construct the SQUAMATA which ends up going rogue due to its instability, and they are forced to imprison it in a bubble.
  • The last surviving members create the Gem and Metal races before vanishing, though some believe they are still around in some capacity.
• King Serpentes I, the original ruler of the Slytherophidians, begins the first Contest of Champions as a tradition passed from king to king.
• An empire of Reality Warpers tries to conquer the omniverse after Flispo, one of their subordinates blows up the castle of their high castle because he thought it was funny, only for it to be rebuilt in a single day, and him being punished for it by being banished to another dimension and is unable to return until he understands what it means to be responsible.
• Black Rutile emerges from a Kindergarten and later rises through the ranks of White Diamond's court through hard work and determination, though the power quickly starts going to her head. She also starts harboring a grudge against Pink Diamond for her bratty behavior. At some point, Black Rutile takes Cinnabar under her wing as an apprentice.
• Zoisite worked as the leader of a black ops assassination team tasked with killing the leaders of planets the Diamonds plan to colonize. However, a mission to the planet of Chazelle leads to Zoisite's dysfunctional team getting shattered and Zoisite, as the Sole Survivor, kills the planet's king as revenge.
• The Diamonds threaten to colonize Sergione-29, only to be met with resistance by some of the planet's leaders.
• The Metals go to war with the Gems over ownership of Budiansky-84.
• Xenotime served as a timekeeper with the ability to warp time. Her abilities caused her to develop a superiority complex that made her try to overthrow the Diamonds, which leads to her being arrested and sentenced to be shattered. However, Black Rutile saves Xenotime from execution in exchange for the timekeeper's loyalty, and she helps Xenotime escape capture.
• Morganite receives her own Ruby and Pearl for designing the Diamonds' palanquin, but the two Gems fall in love and start fusing with each other. Concerned for her reputation, Morganite rejuvenates the pair with every time they fuse until she eventually decides to have them replaced. The Ruby and Pearl escape and live out the rest of their days in hiding as Rhodonite, during which they meet Fluorite.
• Pyrite lives a charmed life as an arms dealer during the Rebellion who sells weapons to both the Crystal Gems and Homeworld.
• Black Rutile, Serpentine, and Bloodstone build an Interdimensional Travel Device for the Diamonds' plans to become Multiversal Conquerors. However, since the prototype caused its first test subjects to go missing, the project was scrapped.
• Bloodstone presents a theory that Pink Diamond staged the entire rebellion and faked her death out of boredom, only to be laughed away by the other Gems.
• Dalmatian Jasper emerges in the Prime Kindergarten. Despite initial beliefs that she is defective due to having her gem where her hand should be, Dalmatian Jasper proves herself a fierce warrior and is paired up with Zoisite during the Rebellion.
• A Crystal Gem named Tanzanite is shattered in battle during the Gem War and her remains are made a part of the Cluster, along with two Homeworld Gems named Amazonite and Apatite.
• Kyanite is formed to serve as Cinnabar's lieutenant and consultant near the end of the gem war.
• During the end of the Rebellion, Kyanite is accidentally separated from Cinnabar for a brief moment, only to find her having been poofed and rescues her gem. Though Cinnabar is furious with having nearly been abandoned, Kyanite is Easily Forgiven since the incident was kind of Cinnabar's fault as well and it was her first day on the job, but she won't be as forgiving should something like this happen again.
• With the Rebellion over, Dalmatian Jasper and Zoisite become bounty hunters chasing outlaw Gems.
• Solaris Nocturne the current overseer of the Cosmic Libary imprisons Flipso.
• At some point, Black Rutile deduces that Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz are one and the same with the help of Bloodstone, and she relays this information to White Diamond.
• Batsputin Vosania ascends to the throne of his home planet of Cavenousya and later becomes a Universal Lord after defeating his predecessor Velhallen Beo in a fight. Feeling jealous of his brother's success, Torius Vosania engages him in a battle to the death that he barely escapes alive from. After receiving help from the royal family's majordomo Mr. Bartok, Torius leaves Cavenousya to lead a criminal lifestyle.
• The Vosania Syndicate is born after Torius, having already ratted out a local drug trafficker he was working for on Zeppeli, meets fellow hoodlum Bobbite, and the two begin recruiting criminals for the organization from then on.
• Rose Quartz discovers Amethyst in the Prime Kindergarten and protects her from a corrupted Diaspore.
• A Slytherophidian scout arrives on Earth under the name of Christopher Columbus.
• Prince Nosiop Jormagundr pleads his case about the Slytherophidians being more fit to conquer other worlds, but his father King Cobralan doesn't agree with him.
• In the lead-up to Red October, the Crystal Gems are called to investigate the mad monk Rasputin for his influence on the Romanov family. When they're shunted out for continuing to take Rasputin's side, Prince Felix Yusupov and his cohorts frame the Gems for selling Rasputin out, a story that is passed down through Rasputin's surviving family.
• The Crystal Gems, Harry S. Truman, and J. Edgar Hoover sign the Quartz Accords, which prevents the Crystal Gems and the US Government from involving in each other's affairs.
• During the 1950s, corrupted Gems menace various parts of Russia and the Crystal Gems work to stop them, but they cause some collateral damage in the process. One instance led to the death of the family of Nikolay Sidorov, who began vowing revenge on the Crystal Gems while working his way to becoming The Sickle, the most powerful crime lord in Russia.
• Twenty years before the present day, the Diamonds lay siege to Invisibo-9 to colonize it, forcing the inhabitants to fight back. Sylvia Spectre's parents help her escape into the care of the Coalition of Planets, where Sylvia would become one of its most loyal members.
• Envyrno is imprisoned on her home planet Hifotia for crimes against the high sheriff, only for Torius to stage a breakout and she becomes a member of his criminal organization.
• The events of Steven Universe, Attack the Light, Save the Light, The Phantom Fable,Unleash the Light, and Steven Universe: The Movie take place. During this time, Black Rutile begins to assemble the Rutile Rebels for her grand revenge scheme against the Crystal Gems, and later encounters Spinel before giving her the injector and the Rejuvenator she hid in Pink Diamond's garden.
• * Following the events of Unleash the Light, Squaridot is conscripted into the Rutile Rebels and trains under Morganite to develop her ferrokinetic powers. However, Hessonite, now a Gem vigilante hunting down the Rutile Rebels, breaks in and recruits Squaridot to her cause.
• Lars earns the wrath of Emerald after stealing her Sun Incinerator when she wasn't looking.
• After learning that Steven Universe was actually Pink Diamond, Aquamarine and Eyeball are humiliated and upset by this fact and refuse to attend the Era 3 ball. Eyeball hides within one of the palace walls and is solemnly crying while listening to music from the ball, an equally upset Aquamarine accidentally stumbles upon her and they salute each other and quickly agree those other gems are a bunch of hypocrites. They decide to have their own private ball and accidentally fuse, and only split apart once they hear the fusion commotion outside and then become disgusted with themselves for cross-fusing and agree to never speak of it again. But it seems, the two did enjoy their time together.
• After Pink Pearl was freed from White's control, she meets up with Black Rutile, and White Topaz, and the two ask her to spy on the Crystal Gems for them.
• Pumpkin dies of natural causes, making Peridot fall into depression. Fortunately, Lapis is able to cheer her up while also declaring their love for each other and accidentally fuse into a new being: Turquoise.
• Eduardo Suarez becomes president of the United States.
• Rasputina allies with The Sickle to defeat their shared enemy the Crystal Gems, and in exchange, The Sickle will help Rasputina search for a spellbook said to contain unimaginable power.
• At the beginning of Era 3, Pyrite is forced to give back all her money from selling weapons, Dalmatian Jasper & Zoisite go on the run for refusing to accept Steven's changes, and Bloodstone is mocked for believing the Crystal Gems to be evil. All four of them would soon join the Rutile Rebels.
• Many of the gems that had been enemies of the Crystal Gems both directly and indirectly become disgusted with how they got away with everything, and decide to discuss with each other what they should do about them.
• Dalmatian Jasper & Zoisite escort Aquamarine, Eyeball, Holly Blue Agate, Morganite, Emerald, and Navy to Revanche 666 which at the time was presumed to have been destroyed. At the same time, Xenotime returns to Homeworld after spending centuries on a peaceful farming planet.

Late summer-fall 2017: “Little Homeschool” to “Bluebird”

• Steven heals Cherry Quartz and Teal Zircon to enroll them in Little Homeschool before getting into a fight with Jasper. During the fight, Steven unlocks powers that seem to activate whenever he is under extreme stress.
• After hearing about Amethyst's job program for Gems, Steven tries to fit the groups into jobs he thinks would suit them, only for chaos to ensue. Steven and Amethyst fuse into Smoky Quartz to try and fix the problem, only to unlock the power of slowing time around them.
• At the same time Steven tries to heal Pink Pearl (also known as Volleyball)'s eye, the Human Zoo visits Earth to show Steven how it's changed with Era 3, where Steven and Pearl meet a trio of Rose Quartzes; one of them looking almost identical to Rose Quartz. After reminding himself of Pink Pearl's eye, Steven is brought to the Reef to try and fix it. Afterward, Black Rutile arrives at the Reef via a tracking beacon she placed on Pink Pearl.
• Aquamarine and Eyeball, under the guise of a fusion named Bluebird Azurite, infiltrate Earth claiming that they've changed their ways. Steven doesn't trust the two due to his past experiences with them, and his suspicions are proven true when the duo threatens to kill Greg unless he caves into their demands. Steven refuses to bend the knee to them and fuses with Greg to fight the enemy Gems as Steg, with help from Lapis and Peridot. After escaping capture, Aquamarine and Eyeball flee Earth to deliver the information they gathered to Black Rutile.

Winter 2017: “Snow Day”

• Steven overworks himself and the Crystal Gems try to cheer him up on a snow day by playing Steven Tag. Steven is reluctant though since he believes the Gems still see him as a little kid, while Steven Tag becomes higher-staked with the addition of fusions.

Late winter 2017-early spring 2018: “Why so Blue” to “Enemy of my Enemy”, first half of Black Pearl Brigade

• Steven and Lapis are called to Aozul-2 to talk a pair of Lapis Lazulis out of terrorizing the planet. The two Lapides happen to be old friends of Lapis, and while 2F8D-9ZE, now known as Zuli, is convinced to join Little Homeschool, 1J9G-5KL believes it to be a betrayal of everything they know and vows revenge on Steven for taking her friends away. This is what causes her to join Black Rutile.
• After a device built by Peridot reveals that Rhodonite has been reset 17 times by her former Morganite, the Off-Colors visit Homeworld to investigate. Although Morganite presents herself as neutral towards Era 3 and tells the story of how her Ruby & Pearl fell in love, she is secretly an ally of Black Rutile.
• Pretending to be a television show host, Black Rutile, a former intelligence agent of White Diamond, and her bodyguard White Topaz visit Earth to interview the Crystal Gems and their allies about their experiences post-Era 3. However, it's actually a ruse for Black Rutile to gather as much info as possible on her enemies, which she relays to her assembly of minions consisting of Aquamarine, Eyeball, Holly Blue Agate, Emerald, and Lapis 1J9G-5KL.
• Not too long afterwards, the Off-Colors graduate from Little Homeschool and Lars makes plans for them to leave Earth once again to continue their space adventures. Unwilling to let any of his friends go, Steven traps everyone at the graduation party in a pink dome and only frees everyone thanks to Sadie's new partner Shep. Once the Off-Colors leave Earth, Emerald follows them under Black Rutile's orders.
• A few days pass since graduation, and Steven decides to take up gardening as a way to cope with his friends slowly leaving him. However, his cactus becomes sentient and starts parroting all of Steven's venting to him, eventually growing into a prickly monster. After Steven manages to calm Cactus Steven down and let him go, Cactus Steven is suddenly cut into pieces by a visiting Black Rutile before his remains are harvested for later use.
• Peridot visits the beach house to watch the new Camp Pining Hearts reboot with Steven. When the reboot is not up to their expectations, Steven's dreams start somehow broadcasting on his TV and Peridot gets the idea to produce their own reboot with the dreams. In secret, Peridot is also using the experiment to cope with her guilt over causing Steven to sacrifice himself to Aquamarine, which she reveals to Steven once his nightmares of his friends leaving him cause chaos.
• Steven holds a support group for formerly corrupted Gems to vent their struggles after accidentally causing Nephrite to have a panic attack over a centipede. Despite the Gems' willingness to talk, Nephrite remains reluctant to vent her stress, and only comes through with some convincing by Steven and her old crewmates.
• Pearl brings Steven, Connie and Bismuth along on a roller-skating date with Sheena Synstylae, where Bismuth wrestles with her own feelings for Pearl. Meanwhile, Steven struggles with connecting with his human side while meeting some friends of Connie.
• After a fusion accident causes Lapis to reminisce on Malachite, Steven gets the idea to try and have her and Jasper make up. The two refuse to do so because of their shared traumatic experiences, with Jasper believing Lapis to still be an abusive monster. It's only when Steven accidentally puts himself in danger that Jasper and Lapis are convinced to form Malachite again to save him. Afterwards, the two admit that it was nice to have a common goal for once, which Steven sees as a victory.
• Around the same time, Emerald is given a squad of freshly-made Black Pearls to use as a personal army. Meanwhile, Navy is made Yellow Zircon's campaign manager as a way to turn her into a mouthpiece for Black Rutile.
• A visit to Homeworld causes Lars and the Off-Colors to learn about Black Rutile's plan to take over the Gem race, and they team up with Hessonite & Squaridot to race back to Earth so they can warn Steven. Afterwards, Navy, Holly Blue and Morganite are arrested for their cooperation with Black Rutile.
• Five of Black Rutile's Pearls are captured and convinced by Yellow Diamond to serve as a mercenary group to hunt down Black Rutile's followers, particularly those aligned with the former general and Black Rutile's apprentice Cinnabar.
• Once Lars crashes onto Earth and warns Steven of Black Rutile in the hospital, the Rutile Rebels, now joined by Demantoid and Pyrope, enter the Alpha Kindergarten and awaken the Cluster Gems within to add to their army.
• Despite Lars's warnings, Steven doesn't believe him at first until the Rutile Rebels invade Little Homeworld with an army of Cactus Stevens, Light Warriors created by captured Light Prisms, and Cluster Gems. This causes the Crystal Gems to join forces with the Off-Colors to stop the Rutile Rebels, and in the ensuing battle, Lapis 1J9G has a change of heart after being saved by Jasper and begins calling herself Laz, Emerald, Demantoid & Pyrope are poofed and kept on Earth, and Black Rutile, White Topaz, Aquamarine & Eyeball escape.
• A few days after Black Rutile was declared missing in action, the new Black Pearl Brigade travel the cosmos fighting her remaining allies, which catches the attention of Cinnabar as she sends out her minions after them.
• While stopping at Bopbe for supplies, Braids comes across the con-Gem Pyrite who swindles her into accepting a faulty makua motor. Upon learning of this, the Pearls plot to give Pyrite their just desserts.
• Dalmatian Jasper and Zoisite successfully capture most of the Pearls on Lancerik-40, with the exception of Tails, who was not present for the capture due to having low views on teamwork. She did decide to go out and rescue her teammates however and stop the bounty hunters from bringing them back to Cinnabar.

Mid spring-early summer 2018: “Together Forever” to “The Future”, second half of Black Pearl Brigade, The Trial of Black Rutile

• Two weeks after the battle with Black Rutile, Pearl visits the library to attend a book signing by author George Ikari, who relates Steven's troubles to that of his own son's. Meanwhile, Steven is convinced by Ruby and Sapphire to try proposing to Connie after he realizes that she'll be going to a different state for college. The proposal fails, and Steven is left wallowing in despair as Black Rutile watches via a spy drone while working on a disintegration device.
• Bloodstone and IQ compete against each other in a Brain Brawl hosted by the Intelliga of Planet Teslein. IQ wins by the skin of her teeth after exposing Bloodstone for cheating on the final challenge, while Bloodstone is enlisted to create super soldiers for Cinnabar.
• Cinnabar allies with the Sergione-29 crime lord Mr. Manco to find a treasure that would make him mayor of East Walleef. With help from the local sheriff and deputy, the Pearls fight back against Manco's forces and take him down. In the meantime, Bloodstone finishes work on prototype super soldiers for Cinnabar.
• Bloodstone presents Cinnabar with the seemingly unstoppable Concretes to use against the Pearls, which she debuts after the Pearls stop a Ruby uprising on Yi. This causes Cap to become stressed out, but after some cheering up by her cohorts, she leads the Pearls in chasing Cinnabar to Revanche-666. In the resulting battle, Black Rutile's headquarters on that planet is destroyed and all the Gems within, except for Cinnabar and her minions, are captured by the Pearls.
• Cinnabar and her minions hide out in the dreary metropolis of Blacropolis, where Xenotime is also stationed. Xenotime plans to throw a party celebrating Cinnabar, but it's a ruse she set up to seize control of the Rutile Rebels for herself. The Black Pearls, along with Lars and Hessonite, expose Xenotime for her duplicity and are forced to team up with Cinnabar to stop her.
• The team-up of the Black Pearl Brigade, Lars and the Off-Colors, and Hessonite continue chasing Cinnabar through space. An imprisoned Xenotime lends her assistance by calling armadas from the past to join Cinnabar, but she is arrested by the Pearls after making Cinnabar crash into the Reef. Though the Pearls believe Cinnabar to be defeated, she is still active and goes into hiding to plot her next move.
• While the Crystal Gems are away on Homeworld prosecuting Holly Blue, Morganite & Navy for their crimes, Steven is made to go on his first doctor's appointment with Connie's mom, where he learns that he has accumulated years worth of stress from his adventures. Pearl matches wits with aristocrat turned defendant Cat's Eye, who insists that the Crystal Gems are hypocrites for only practicing restorative justice on those that are kind to them. However, once Pearl outsmarts her, Cat's Eye flies off the handle and is poofed while the jury reaches a verdict.
• Steven meets Kevin again, and Kevin dares Steven to try and see the good in him after being inspired by the Crystal Gems making peace with the Diamonds. Steven is incredibly reluctant to do so, but he and Kevin manage to find some common ground in being turned down after Steven talks about his failed proposal to Connie.
• At Steven's suggestion, the Gems take a break and go for a night on the town at Los Diego. Lapis and Amethyst meet the super spy Bane Jones and fight alongside him against his enemy Francis von Bowling, Garnet and Bismuth solve mysteries with a mysterious police officer, and Pearl and Peridot go to the Los Diego National Nerds and Geeks Convention. Back at Beach City, Steven meets Black Rutile again, who tries gaslighting him into believing he was never loved before they get into a fight.
• Three days after "Gems' Night Out", Yellow Diamond makes Steven babysit Spinel while she's off searching for Black Rutile's location. Steven decides to take Spinel to Empire City, where she is introduced to Steven's favorite basketball player and helps reunite a lost child with her mother.
• Steven, Lapis and Peridot get together on the anniversary of Pumpkin's death to reminisce on the circumstances revolving around his passing.
• In an attempt to help Steven, Greg drives him to his childhood home in West Keystone so his son could find himself the same way Greg did at his age. Unfortunately, this only worsens Steven's mental state and he crashes Greg's van. This causes a voice in Steven's head created by Black Rutile's gaslighting to accuse Steven of wanting to kill Greg.
• After getting called out by the Gems for putting Greg in danger once returning to Beach City, Steven runs away from home and decides to train under Jasper to get a better handle on his powers. Over the next three days, Steven's emotions combined with Jasper's teachings and Black Rutile's manipulations turn him into a monster.
• While the Gems search for Steven, the Black Pearls visit Earth for a vacation, where they discover Black Rutile's lair and try to arrest her. However, Black Rutile forces them to flee Earth without telling anyone where she was, while she continues to coerce Steven & Jasper into turning against each other.
• Meanwhile, Cinnabar and her allies meet an alien worm named Bobbite who introduces the group to his boss, and best friend kingpin Torius Vosania and he decides to help Cinnabar regain her lost power over the Rutile Rebels, which catches the attention of the Coalition of Planets.
• In response, the Coalition sends their top agent Sylvia Spectre to investigate. However, Sylvia has some deep-seated racism against Gems which complicates her interrogation of the Pearls, causing them all to crash on her home planet of Invisibo-9. An encounter with Cinnabar and Torius causes the two to find some common ground, and Sylvia promises to put in a good word for them before leaving them.
• Torius summons the Magman mercenary Envyrno to take out the Pearls, and she disguises as a scared refugee in order to infiltrate the Servant. After revealing her true colors on the vacation planet Kyukanza, Envyrno is defeated by the combined efforts of the Pearls and the inhabitants of Kyukanza, and is sold to the Slytherophidians as punishment for her continuous failures.
• Cinnabar and the Vosania Syndicate plot to start a war between the Gems and their sister race the Metals by conquering the Metal colony planet Budiansky-84, but their plans are foiled by the Brigade and their allies within the Metals' military. After the gems leave, the Metals are then paid a visit by a few Slytherophidians who then give them an interesting proposition. Afterward, Torius plots to kill a Universal Lord to seize more power, and he chooses his brother Batsputin.
• Fearing for his life, Batsputin Vosania hires the Pearls to be his bodyguards upon hearing of a possible assassination. In a great battle between him and Torius for the fate of the Twilight Zone where the other Universal Lords get involved, Torius is accidentally shot down by Zoisite, who was supposed to assassinate Batsputin, and forces Cinnabar and her minions to break off their partnership.
• After Steven shatters Jasper during their rematch, he finally returns to his senses and comes home to try and fix Jasper with the Diamonds' essences. Steven succeeds, but Jasper recognizes his strength and declares him her Diamond.
• Afterwards, Steven flees to Homeworld to try and consult the Diamonds on how to control his new powers. Unfortunately, Yellow and Blue's attempts to help only make him more stressed, but White Diamond's suggestions cause Steven's inner voice to take control of him and try to kill her. Luckily, Steven stops himself before he can do it and escapes back to Earth.
• Despite his friends' concerns for his mental health, Steven insists that everything is okay, yet his powers keep causing more chaos for everyone. It isn't long before he finally snaps and his stress, trauma & unnatural powers combine to transform Steven into a reptilian beast.
• While Cinnabar returns to Revanche 666 to release her subordinates from prison, she pits Torius against the Pearls for one last battle to provide a distraction so she can take control of the Vosania Syndicate. The Pearls, with help from the Diamonds, Spinel, Hessonite, Sylvia Spectre, and the Light Prisms, finally defeat Torius and send him to prison, just in time for Cinnabar to take over.
• The Black Pearl Brigade are taken prisoner by Cinnabar, along with their allies and Lars, the latter was called by Hessonite to come help them. Using a weapon that she built around the override command Black Rutile gave her, Cinnabar resets the Pearls back to their original settings.
• The Diamonds, Spinel, Volleyball and Lemon Jade visit Earth to return a sandal that Steven lost while leaving Homeworld, only to learn what has happened since Steven came back to Earth, while the US Government catches wind of everything going on in Beach City. United States President Eduardo Suarez makes an address discussing the monster problem, only to be interrupted by Black Rutile using a drone to hack into the feed and lionizing the people of Earth against the Crystal Gems. One particular viewer is Sally Grove, who develops a special kind of prejudice towards the Gems and becomes a bigoted influencer.
• Púrén enacts a rescue mission to save the Pearls where she is joined by Shell, who managed to survive the destruction of the Reef, and together they break the Off-Colors, Team Hessonite, the Prisms, and Monazite out of the prison tower. Cinnabar catches word of this from Fire Agate and sends the Pearls after the rebels.
• While Black Rutile and her rebels return to use Steven against the Crystal Gems and their allies, Jasper begins believing that all of this was her fault after getting caught up on what's going on, and joins the Gems in fighting off Black Rutile as a way to atone for her sins. However, as the world calls for the Gems to be tried for their crimes against humanity, Eduardo Suarez reluctantly gives the order for the military to capture them all. In the end, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Peridot, Lapis, Bismuth, Jasper and Volleyball are taken away while the Rutile Rebels take Steven, the Diamonds, Spinel and Lemon Jade to their lair. The event soon makes international news.
• At Area 42, the Gems are interrogated by the president, along with vice president Theresa Maxwell, Major General Wade Grant and General Lloyd Waller, for their actions over the past few years. Meanwhile, Black Rutile makes some final adjustments to her disintegration device that she plans to execute the Diamonds with while framing Steven for the crime. After a long conversation with the former monarchs, White Topaz begins questioning her loyalties to Black Rutile and assists the Diamonds in escaping while fully turning her back on her now former master. Enraged by this betrayal, Black Rutile goes flying off the deep end into insanity. Back at Area 42, the Gems successfully convince the government to lend their help in saving Steven from Black Rutile.
• While all of this was happening, Steven becomes a prisoner of his own fragmented mind taking the form of a cheesy sitcom where all the Gems, including Rose Quartz, are human. In reality, this was all a way for Steven's inner dark side to slowly take control of him while the Gems and the military work to keep him sane. During this time, Jasper finds herself bonding with White Topaz over questioning everything they once knew.
• Despite Negative Steven's attempts to make Steven accept his dream as reality, the dream version of his mother saves Steven and un-fuses to reveal Rose Quartz and Pink Diamond. Steven blames them both for ruining his life, he forgive the two sides of his mom once they reveal the immense guilt they felt for all they've done. As the battle within Steven's mind begins, Black Rutile, Aquamarine and Eyeball arrive for the final battle.
• After Steven was temporarily freed from Black Rutile's clutches, he stampeded back to Beach City and nearly smashed Little Homeworld to rubble. As the residents prepare to assist the Crystal Gems, Squaridot sends an SOS to Lars and Hessonite to help them out.
• The Pearls are rescued from their status thanks to Púrén reminding them of their previous adventures while Shell steals the body of another Black Pearl leading them. With the Black Pearl Brigade back to normal and with a new member, they help Lars and Hessonite to Pink Diamond's legs so they can escape Homeworld. Sylvia Spectre then calls many of the Pearls' allies for help while the Pearls face Cinnabar in a final battle.
• Black Rutile prepares to murder President Suarez for associating with the Gems, only for Waller to take a knife to the chest and is returned to Washington for medical care. As the Crystal Gems and all of their allies race to save Steven, Jasper volunteers to take on Black Rutile herself in a battle that causes massive damage to the beach house. Though Jasper insists that she fight alone, White Topaz tells her that she doesn't have to fight alone anymore. The two then fuse into Orange Moonstone, while Black Rutile fuses with Bluebird Azurite to form Pietersite.
• A destructive clash between Mega Black Pearl and Painite, a fusion of Cinnabar, Kyanite, Pyrite, Dalmatian Jasper, Zoisite, Bloodstone, and Xenotime, causes massive property damage to Homeworld, but it all ends with Mega Black Pearl exploiting Cinnabar's self-worth issues to win the battle.
• Inside Steven's mind, Negative Steven keeps throwing bad memories at Steven, Rose and Pink's way, but an inspirational speech by Connie weakens him long enough for Steven to fuse with his mom's dual identities to form Ultimate Steven to take down Negative Steven once and for all.
• The battle between Orange Moonstone and Pietersite causes massive damage to Beach City as they exchange philosophies. But when the Lapis twins, Emerald and the Garnets are poofed for trying to intervene, it gives Orange Moonstone enough time to take Pietersite by surprise and tear the fusion in two, ending the threat of Black Rutile once and for all.
• Meanwhile, the combined powers of Ultimate Steven, his friends and family's love for him, and a kiss from Connie helps Steven finally overcome his negative thoughts and return to normal at last. As Rose and Pink fade away from Steven's mind, they start singing Love Like You to him as he wakes up.
• As Steven is finally returned to Beach City, he gets a chance to insult the defeated Black Rutile one last time as she tries begging for mercy. Unfortunately, no one takes her seriously anymore and she is sentenced to attend Little Homeschool as punishment for her crimes. With that, White Topaz poofs Black Rutile once and for all.
• A short while after Cinnabar's takeover is foiled, she and the other Rutile Rebels on Homeworld are imprisoned on Revanche 666, where they are then informed of Black Rutile's ultimate defeat. Afterward, Holly Blue, Morganite, Navy and Cat's Eye are transferred to Little Homeworld.
• Black Rutile is put on trial for her crimes against the universe and found guilty on all charges.
• After Sylvia Spectre finishes her work on Homeworld and plans on investigating the disappearance of the Metals, she is suddenly captured by Captain Boa, the captain of the Jörmungandr Royal Guard, and proudly claims that she will be amongst the many champions who will compete in the Torment Tournament along with her new cellmates including Envyrno, the Metals, and various other miserable extraterrestrials. But before she could say anything else, he curiously ask her and her cellmate about their interactions with gemkind and what they know about them.
• A few months pass as Beach City and Little Homeworld begin rebuilding from the prior conflict as Steven undergoes the healing process. During that time, he finally goes to see a therapist and receives awards from the president along with the other Crystal Gems for not just saving Earth from the Rutile Rebels/Lucent Gems, but for all of their good deeds over the years.
• Later, Black Rutile resists assimilating into Little Homeworld lifestyle and begins plotting her revenge with Aquamarine, Holly Blue Agate, and Cat's Eye as the newest addition to the Rutile Rebels by her side.
• At the suggestion of his therapist, Steven decides to leave Beach City on a cross-country road trip. However, he can't bring himself to show his true feelings over saying goodbye to the Crystal Gems, and it turns out they feel the same. One emotional goodbye on the day of his departure later, Steven finally leaves Beach City to find himself.
• A statue of Pink Diamond is unveiled as a shining example of how nobody's perfect to thunderous applause. As the Black Pearl Brigade watch the festivities, they begin discussing what to do next.
• The mysterious police officer from Los Diego watches Steven drive away and reports to his unknown superiors under the name of Aescul, telling them to prepare for a contest, and that a king wants to meet Steven.

Summer-winter 2018: Little Homeworld Life Season 1 & Two Sides of the Same Gem

• As Black Rutile and her remaining allies are forced to adjust to life on Earth, the Crystal Gems enroll five new students into Little Homeschool. One of these students, Serpentine, happens to be an old lab partner of Black Rutile who reveals that one of their projects known as the Vortexxer is still active somewhere. She explains that it is a device that has the potential to travel across the multiverse, and became one of the Diamond's pet projects. However, it was forced to be scrapped because according to her, something was preventing anyone who entered from returning.
• Eyeball begins questioning her loyalties to Black Rutile as the Rutile Rebels go out in search of the Vortexxer on Homeworld while reminiscing on everything that led her to join them. After some convincing by Aquamarine, Eyeball regains her faith in Black Rutile before taking control of the Ruby Squad, forcing them to serve Black Rutile through her.
• After watching a cheesy romance movie, White Topaz decides to take Jasper on a date.
• Lapis gets mistaken for an influencer who has been the target of numerous attempted kidnappings and tries to help her.
• To combat low attendance for Little Homeschool, the Crystal Gems film their own commercial with Teal Zircon as their spokesperson.
• After a screening of an episode of Camp Pining Hearts gone wrong, the Crystal Gems find themselves stuck in the middle of Ship-to-Ship Combat between Teal Zircon, who ships Percy/Pierre, and Cat's Eye, who ships Percy/Paulette. It only takes contacting the actors who played the characters themselves to help stop the war, all while Black Rutile steals the engine of a rental car the three used to reach Little Homeworld to power the Vortexxer.
• Lapis, Laz, and Zuli hold tryouts for new lifeguards at the Little Homeworld pool, which are attended by Topaz, Emerald, Orange Spodumene, Pyrope, and Desert Glass.
• Teal Zircon challenges Jasper to a fight that she prepares for by training with Vice President Theresa Maxwell in krav maga.
• White Topaz has a dream about being a human and going to high school with other Gems as normal humans.
• The Crystal Gems are recruited by the World Defense Agency to help Bane Jones and his mysterious companion Tina to stop an alliance between Francis von Bowling, Black Rutile, and The Sickle. However, Tina reveals herself to be Rasputina in disguise and has the Gems captured for The Sickle. Luckily, the heroes are able to stop the alliance, leading to the death of The Sickle. Later, Black Rutile steals Rasputina's spellbook and discovers an entry on an artifact called the Seer to the Void.
• The Crystal Gems celebrate Samhain Night by sharing stories around a big pile of candy, but their fun is interrupted by the former Lighthouse Monster Dumortierite.
• While Greg is forced to reconcile with his parents on Snowfall Feast, Black Rutile plots to ruin the holiday by stealing it from Little Homeworld.
• Black Rutile completes her restoration of the Vortexxer with help from the Seer to the Void and she uses it to cross dimensions. White Topaz and Jasper then chase Black Rutile to a Mirror Universe where Steven is the supreme ruler of Earth and Black Rutile is a heroic freedom fighter leading the resistance against him.
• Jasper and White Topaz team up with the Lucent Gems to save their Earth from being conquered by the alliance between Black Rutile and the Crystal Regime.
• After a failed attempt at stealing an alternate version of the Seer to the Void, the Lucent Gems team up with the Crystal Gems to stop the Crystal Regime from conquering their Earth, during which Steven returns to Little Homeworld to assist. In his battle with Lord Steven, Steven tries reaching out to him the same way he did with most of his other enemies, but Black Rutile throws a wrench in those plans by sicing a crazed Altered Jasper on him who then brutally tears out his game which is then shattered by Black Rutile and putting him in critical condition. Afterwards, the Lucent Gems return home to rebuild the world in the wake of the fall of the Crystal Regime.

Spring-summer 2019: Little Homeworld Life Season 2 & Steven Universe Snake Eyes

• In the month since the fall of the Crystal Regime, the Crystal Gems are made into celebrities for their deeds. In the midst of this, Black Rutile comes into contact with the influencer Sally Grove and the two bond over their shared hatred of the Crystal Gems.
• At the same time, four teenage Slytherophidian spies visit Earth to interrogate Steven in the name of their ruler and his mysterious ally known only as the Lapidarist.
• Rebecca Sucrose visits Little Homeworld to serve as a therapist for its residents. After coming to terms with her own insecurities, Black Rutile decides to use the psychoanalysis of some of the other Gems to recruit them to her cause, including Emerald, Morganite, Pyrope, Demantoid, and even Teal Zircon and Topaz.
• The Crystal Gems host a singing competition, unaware that Black Rutile is using it to gain more followers. Unfortunately for her, Kunzite turns out to be the winner. But in the process, Black Rutile gains a new ally in Marty.
• The Diamonds return to Earth to help dismantle the Cluster and revive the Gems making up its body. Black Rutile uses this as an opportunity to gain new minions in the form of Amazonite, Apatite, and former Crystal Gem Tanzanite. At some point prior to this, Black Rutile managed to locate Francis von Bowling and Rasputina to restore them to normal so she could enlist Rasputina's help in unleashing the cosmic trickster Flipso.
• A day at the beach becomes hectic when Flipso comes along with an unwilling Black Rutile to wreak havoc.
• Holly Blue Agate is forced to confront past trauma when the human zoo is set to be taken down and the Famethyst is relocated to Earth. In the meantime, the Crystal Gems try moving the Zoomans into Beach City only for hilarity to ensue when Greg accidentally reignites some old grudges.
• Flipso is unleashed onto the world and he suddenly betrays Black Rutile before turning all the Gems of Little Homeworld into humans, forcing the Rutile Rebels to team up with the Crystal Gems to stop him.
• The Black Pearl Brigade returns to Earth and move into Little Homeworld after taking down the last of Black Rutile's generals, Andesine. Meanwhile, Andesine teams up with Cinnabar to stage a prison breakout where they escape to Earth and rejoin Black Rutile.
• Squaridot tries her hand at making meep morps for an art show.
• The Crystal Gems host their own Olympics competition, with Black Rutile, Cat's Eye, Amazonite, Tanzanite, and Apatite going up against Desert Glass, Albite, Serpentine, Beryl, and Tiger's Eye. Black Rutile's team wins the contest with three medals.
• While the Crystal Gems plan for Ruby and Sapphire's wedding anniversary party, Black Rutile takes action against them by revealing to Lapis that Bismuth was the one who poofed her when Lapis visited Earth during the Rebellion. This caused a massive argument between the Crystal Gems that escalates into a full-on fight. At the same time, conservative podcaster Reginald Johnson and his supporters attack the White House and hold Eduardo Suarez's family hostage. After the Crystal Gems are captured and many Little Homeworld Gems are converted to Black Rutile's side with the Rejuvenation Blasters, Black Rutile convinces Lapis to join the Rutile Rebels and has her turn Little Homeworld into a flying fortress.
• Immediately after Black Rutile takes over Little Homeworld, Jasper, White Topaz, and Teal Zircon team up to gather an army of Gems and humans to free the Crystal Gems and save the world once again, with Connie leading their army. Meanwhile, Eduardo pretends to surrender his presidency to Reginald, only to take him by surprise and bring him to justice. In the end, Black Rutile and the Rutile Rebels are imprisoned on Revanche 666 for their crimes, while the Crystal Gems reunite.
• Afterwards, Aescul informs the other Snake People that it's time for the Crystal Gems to come to Serpentes, which their king Cobralan Jormagundr relays to his mysterious ally the Lapidarist.
• At some point, Lars and the Off-Colors are abducted to participate in the Contest of Champions.
• Three weeks after Black Rutile's final defeat, the Slytherophidians abduct Gems from Earth, Homeworld, and Revanche 666 to compete in their Contest of Champions. Black Rutile is the only Gem to escape the attack on Revanche 666 and flies to Earth in order to hide, only to be forced to team up with Steven to save their respective teams. Meanwhile, on Serpentes, the Crystal Gems are introduced to their new lifestyle and begin fighting for their freedom.
• Once Steven is brought to Serpentes, he is taken before King Cobralan Jormagundr and offered the opportunity to fight for the Gems' freedom in the Contest of Champions. Although Steven initially rejects the offer because he refuses to take lives for the sake of entertainment, he caves in and is pitted against Sylvia Spectre, whom he spares to the disgust of the audience. Meanwhile, the other Universal Lords arrive at Serpentes to watch the Contest of Champions, and Black Rutile is introduced to Nosiop, who is forming a rebellion with the royal family's grand vizier Pyth to overthrow his father.
• Enraged by Black Rutile's incompetence and betrayal, the remaining Rutile Rebels elect Andesine as their new leader and rename themselves the Andesine Armada. During the Contest of Champions, Lapis defeats Envyrno, Peridot defeats Titanium, Garnet & Amethyst eliminate Sheriff Spiegel & Deputy Edward by fusing into Sugilite, Ronaldo gives up on fighting the Decimator while also learning that Peedee managed to follow him to Serpentes, Andesine & Cinnabar defeat Captain Gearfeet & Rigby Starglow, and the Mighty Metals defeat the Diamonds.
• After discovering that Andesine and Cinnabar have overthrown her, Black Rutile retakes her position as leader of the Rutile Rebels and poofs her subordinates before introducing the rebels to Nosiop, who explains that he plots to conquer the universe with an army of Gems reprogrammed by the mysterious Lapidarist. Afterwards, Steven is arranged to fight Black Rutile in the Contest.
• During her fight with Steven, Black Rutile uses it to vent her frustrations and insecurities while fighting Steven to the death. When Steven looks to be on the ropes, he lets Inner Steven take control of his body to win the fight and deliver a nasty Curb-Stomp Battle that causes Black Rutile to start begging Steven to kill her. Steven refuses, however, and leaves Black Rutile even more humiliated than she already was. Meanwhile, the Jormagundr royal family start planning to reveal to the Crystal Gems the truth about their species's origin, and Pyth examines a series of wall carvings relating to a prophecy.
• Steven and the Crystal Gems meet the Lapidarist for the first time and learn the hidden origins of the Gems and the threat of Squamata. When the Lapidarist offers to help them restore all the worlds that have been colonized by the Diamonds, the Gems decline the offer. However, Yellow finally reveals how the Diamonds have covered up their acts of genocide, infuriating Steven in the process. Meanwhile, Nosiop reveals his plot to conquer Serpentes, sending the Slytherophidians into a frenzy.
• Immediately afterwards, the Rutile Rebels abandon Black Rutile once again after she explains how the Lapidarist can reset all Gems to their base programming. Once Cobralan and the Crystal Gems hear of Nosiop's uprising, they begin forming alliances with the other contestants to stop him before he does something he'll regret. Later, Black Rutile is almost sacrificed by the mysterious Serpent Society, consisting of Nosiop, Pyth, the Vosania Syndicate, Mr. Manco and his lackeys, and Velhallen Beo, to release Squamata from his resting place, but she manages to escape so she could warn the Crystal Gems. Instead, they use the Slytherophidian soldier Maverick as an alternative. And moments later, Squamata is awakened and unleashed from their tomb.
• As Squamata and his heralds begin wreaking havoc upon Serpentes, Black Rutile tries to gain the Crystal Gems' help in stopping the Snake of Darkness, but nobody believes her pleas and accuse her of plotting to unleash Squamata. Meanwhile, the Universal Lords, and a reluctant Flipso, work together to keep Squamata at bay while the Rutile Rebels offer to make an alliance with the Crystal Gems to save the universe in exchange for the Rutile Rebels coming back to Earth and willingly reforming. Finally, Black Rutile visits the Lapidarist to ask what her purpose in the universe is now, to which the Lapidarist responds by showing a future where Black Rutile has joined the Crystal Gems.
• After a heartfelt conversation with Cinnabar about identity and her past, Black Rutile decides to apologize to the Diamonds, the Rutile Rebels, and the Crystal Gems in hopes of atoning for her actions. When talking with Steven, Black Rutile finally admits that he has a point and begs for forgiveness just as Nosiop appears to assassinate him. Black Rutile and White Topaz fuse into Chrysanthemum Stone to protect Steven at the cost of their physical forms, causing them to reform as Crystal Gems. Afterward, the Diamonds inform Steven that in order to stop Squamata once and for all, the four of them must fuse to revive Gem.
• After hearing of the Diamonds' plan, Steven is forced to confront his leftover emotional baggage with them through a conversation he has with Black Rutile about learning to let go of old grudges. He fuses with Lars and Ronaldo to show that they don't need Gem to stop Squamata, but the two new fusions still prove useful in the final battle against Squamata and the Serpent Society. When Nosiop is forced to become Squamata's vessel, however, Steven has no choice but to fuse with the Diamonds, and Paragon Diamond temporarily puts Squamata on the ropes. But Squamata manages to escape after killing the Lapidarist with his venom, and in her dying breath, the Lapidarist declares that Steven and Black Rutile shall be the ultimate fusion.
• Steven and Black Rutile fuse into Rutilated Quartz to fight Squamata while everyone else combats the Serpent Society. In the process, Pyth is injured by Cobralan for his betrayal, Cobralan rallies the people of Serpentes against the Serpent Society, and Black Rutile helps free Nosiop from Squamata's possession by entering the snake god's mind with Steven's help. Rutilated Quartz defeats Squamata by sealing him in another dimension where he'll never escape, but Squamata vows to return so long as darkness and hatred exist. In the aftermath, the Serpent Society is placed under arrest, and the Gems are finally returned home to celebrate not only Steven's birthday but also their biggest victory yet. Cobralan announces that he shall end the Contest of Champions after 420,000 years to unite the universe in peace and harmony.

Alternate Timelines

• In one alternate timeline Garnet shows Steven prior to the first battle with Black Rutile, the Crystal Gems lose against the Rutile Rebels, and Earth is destroyed by the re-emergence of the Cluster after its bubble is popped by Black Rutile. Afterward, Black Rutile conquers Homeworld and rules it with an iron fist. Volleyball tries to lead a rebellion against the tyrannical ruler, but it fails and she is shattered.
• Garnet claims she viewed multiple timelines where after Connie rejects Steven's marriage proposal, Steven goes insane and forces her to fuse with him.
• One final alternate timeline shown to Jasper reveals a future where Steven never returned to his senses after shattering Jasper and subsequently began wreaking havoc across Earth. Ruby, Amethyst, Pearl, and Lapis were all shattered, leaving Connie, Peridot, Sapphire, and Bismuth as the last surviving members of the Crystal Gems. The Rutile Rebels of this timeline are also reduced to just Black Rutile, Eyeball, and Cat's Eye after White Topaz, Aquamarine, and several others were shattered, forcing them to ally with the Crystal Gems to stop Steven.
