Pre-series

  • 5000 years ago: The Underground Empire Tube is established under the Igam Family.
  • 1964: Takeru/Red Mask is born.
  • 1966: Kenta/Black Mask is born.
  • 1967: Haruka/Yellow Mask is born.
  • 1968: Momoko/Pink Mask is born.
  • 1971: Akira/Blue Mask is born.
  • 1972:
    • A being known as Zeba overthrows the royal family of the Underground Kingdom and becomes the emperor; the king and queen are killed while the twins, Prince Igam and Princess Ial are forced to be raised and work for the new Underground Empire Tube. Zeba's initial action as emperor is the termination of the Merume Clan, the sole survivor being a girl named Mayu who is sent away to be educated in music by a mysterious benefactor. (Ep. 40)
    • The Igam family crown is hidden during this time by a Fu clan ninja named Ijin. (Ep. 11)
  • 1985: During an encounter with Princess Ial, Thief Knight Kiros becomes trapped within an inescapable Whirling Vortex. (Ep. 27)

Series

  • Mio, the mysterious girlfriend of Sugata Racing star Takeru, asks him to run away with her when the underground empire of Tube begins to assault the surface. In the midst of their escape, she is recaptured by the empire while he and his teammates begin facing Tube as Maskman. Commander Sanjuurou Sugata teaches the Maskmen about the great unlimited potential of Aura Power, forcing the team to train until they can awaken it in themselves to stop Emperor Zeba from covering the surface in darkness. The war between the Maskmen and Tube begins. (Ep. 1)
  • Mio, in actuality Ial, princess of the deposed royalty of the underground, is punished for betraying them by being eternally frozen in ice. The Maskmen defeat the Igua Doggler. (Ep. 2)
  • The Maskmen gain Aura Power and defeat the Unglermon Snake. (Ep. 3)

  • Sugata investigates the works of former Light Squadron scientist Dr. Akira Yamagata in order to find his greatest and most infamous creation: Galaxy Robo, a mecha with an Aura heart that killed its creator due to a lightning accident. With the Maskman's assistance, Galaxy Robo is finally tamed and becomes used as their new mecha as they use it to rescue Great Five from Tube. The Maskmen defeat the Kimen Doggler. (Ep. 21 - 22)

  • Igam attempts to use the power of the pond that gave birth to Lethal Doggler to become strong enough to stop the Maskmen, but releases the corpse of the ancient Doggler who possesses her teacher Godai Doggler, forcing the Maskmen to kill him to stop it.   • With only death awaiting him from Zeba, Baraba assists Kiros in removing Ial from the frozen crypt, but is tricked by the thief knight who takes her away leaving him to be killed by Takeru. The Maskmen defeat the Baruga Doggler. (Ep. 48)
  • Escaping with the frozen Ial to his treasure cave, Kiros is assaulted by multiple Tube warriors leading to his death, with the last thing he sees alive Takeru reviving Ial with his aura and realizing the love he'll never have. The Maskmen defeat the Jigoku Doggler. (Ep. 49)
  • In an assault by Igam, the Igam Dragon drops a sphere which reveals Zeba's true identity as Lethal Doggler II, the child of the original Lethal Doggler; it likewise reveals that only the power of twin princesses can fully bring an end to the threat he poses, which Igam denies. Anagmas dies in a full Tube assault to protect Zeba's final plot from being infiltrated by the Maskmen. (Ep. 50)
  • The Maskmen storm the underground but fail to stop Zeba from raising his underground castle to the surface and distribute Evil Particles into the air, blocking the sun and turning the surface into a dark wasteland. Earth Imperial Ninja Oyobu dies in order to raise the castle, while Earth Imperial Ninja Fumin sacrifices her life to protect Igam out of her duty to the family, making her finally see the light and turn against her ruler. The Maskmen combine their aura with the pendant and power of princesses Ial and Igam to annihilate the Evil Particles and permanently change Zeba back into Lethal Doggler II, which they ultimately finish off with the power of Galaxy Robo. Feeling disgraced by all she had done, Igam renounces her royal lineage and becomes a Buddhist nun wandering the world to make up for her evil ways, leaving Ial to become the sole ruler of the underground where she returns. (Ep. 51)

Post-series

  • 1989: Among the 10 Super Sentai preceeding the Turborangers, the Maskmen stand behind them as they confront the Hundred Boma Tribes. (Kousoku Sentai Turboranger ep. 1)
  • 2001: As one of the first 24 Super Sentai, the Maskmen provide their support in the Gaorangers fight against Lost Highness Duke Rakushaasa. (Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai)
  • 2006: As one of the first 30 Super Sentai, Red Mask's Red Warrior spirit is inherited by AkaRed. (Boukenger vs. Super Sentai)
  • 2011: The Maskmen, among the first 34 Super Sentai, oppose an invasion of Earth by the Space Empire Zangyack in what becomes known the Legend War, ending with all Super Sentai sacrificing their power to destroy the invasion fleet. Dispersed throughout the universe, the powers ultimately resurface as Ranger Keys whilst the former Super Sentai disband. (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger ep. 1, 199 Hero Great Battle)
  • 2012: A month following the defeat of the second Zangyack invasion, the powers of the 34 Super Sentai are returned to them by the Gokaigers. (Gokaiger ep. 51)
  • 2012: The Maskmen, among the first 34 Super Sentai, are apparently defeated by Tsukasa Kadoya (Kamen Rider Decade), Great Leader of Dai-Shocker which seeks to wipe out the Super Sentai, opposing Dai-Zangyack led by Emperor (formerly Captain) Marvelous (Gokai Red) who are hunting the Kamen Riders. Infact, all the presumed deceased Sentai and Riders had been transported to the dimensional rift, from which they emerge to defeat the new Shocker-Zangyack Alliance. (Super Hero Taisen)
  • 2017: The Maskmen, among the first 38 Super Sentai, provide their power for the Ninningers and Zyuohgers to defeat Gillmarda. (Zyuohger vs. Ninninger)
  • 2019: The Maskmen are embroiled in the Super Sentai Strongest Battle. (Super Sentai Strongest Battle)
  • 2021: The Maskmen, among the first 44 Super Sentai, are embroiled in the Zenkaigers' conflict with the Kikaitopia Dynasty Tojitendo. (Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger)
