Tear Jerker / Soundgarden

  • Many of the band's songs already qualified, particularly songs like "Boot Camp", "Like Suicide", "Zero Chance", and "Room a Thousand Years Wide". After Cornell's death, nearly the band's whole catalogue could count for someone; songs like "Black Hole Sun", "Blow Up the Outside World", and "Tighter & Tighter" have lines that are now extremely poignant.
  • Soundgarden's final concert with Chris Cornell, hours before his suicide. Watching it, you can tell that Chris is out of it and wants to be done with everything. It just makes his death even more soul-crushing.
  • Chester Bennington's reaction to Chris Cornell's death. From singing Hallejulah at his memorial to trying to sing One More Light for him, but breaking down crying each time. It all came to a tragic end on what would have been Chris's 53rd birthday (July 20, 2017) when Chester ended his life...in almost the exact same way as his friend.
  • As this Washington Post story points out, among the major grunge frontmen, only Eddie Vedder is still alive (The article also makes a caveat for Mark Arm). Even worse, Soundgarden themselves already suffered from the loss of Kurt Cobain, being informed of his death while on a European tour. And now the surviving band members have to go through it themselves with the loss of Chris.
  • Chris' posthumous album is titled "No One Sings Like You Anymore". Ouch.
