WARNING: SPOILERS ARE UNMARKED FOR THIS PAGE. ANIME ONLY FANS, BEWARE OF SPOILERS FROM THE LIGHT NOVEL AND MANGA.

  • The flashback to Rishe's mother telling her during her childhood that her only worth is to be a fitting wife for Dietrich and to give birth to an heir, and thus there's no need to educate her further than what is necessary to make good conversation. The child Rishe protests, clearly interested in studying, but her mother shuts her down.
    • Made even worse in the book when it's elaborated that Rishe, as a girl, is ineligible to inherit her father's title and estate, and thus her parents saw her as worthless for anything except an alliance to reaffirm ties with the royal family.
  • Episode 8 has a blink and miss flashback to Rishe's life as an apothecary, where Kyle is standing with his back to her and saying, "Weitzner, I want to protect this country." It only qualifies as a tearjerker if you have the light novel's context for the flashback, however: in this loop, after Rishe's treatment of him, Kyle had recovered enough to lead a normal life. However, when Galkhein declared war, pressure from Coyelle's surrounding border countries forced Coyelles to join the fight against Galkhein. The flashback is of a moment when Rishe was trying to talk Kyle out of joining the fight with the rest of his knights, despite his recent recovery and long history of poor health. Kyle refused to listen to her and joined his citizens on the battlefield. It is all but certain that he died there, except Rishe didn't get confirmation before her own death in a war-related epidemic that loop. Kyle literally got his health back only to march to certain death in a fight he was guaranteed to lose.
