Pretty much all what the 86 had to go through. Their own country forcibly conscript them into fighting their battles leading to all of the adults be killed and the children will soon join them.

After Kaie was killed in a Legion ambush, Lena apologizes to Spearhead. Unfortunately, Theo, who has been keeping quiet about how he truly feels about Lena, finally lets it all out in a brutal "The Reason You Suck" Speech towards her. At the end, Lena breaks down into tears.
Episode 7
Just the sight of Spearhead happily playing with the fireworks Lena smuggled for them is just gut-wretching as the scene cuts back to the group engaging in a devastating Legion attack. Most of them are killed leaving only nine of them left.
Episode 8
Lena finally learns the true scope of her people's atrocities but every time she tries to beg anyone for help, they all turn away from her, including her uncle and best friend.
Speaking of said friend, Annette reveals that she was Shin's childhood friend but after being bullied many times for befriending an 86, Annette unwittingly ousted Shin and his family causing them to be sent into the frontlines. Eversince then, she has been carrying massive guilt and has been trying to bury it only for Lena to bring it out again.
Her weird quirk in finding a marriage partner takes a tragic turn. It's implied the bullying never stopped for Annette even after Shin was gone and she realized that she sold out her childhood friend for nothing. It's no wonder why her choices are weird: The older men won't care about her past relationship with the Nouzens and those way younger than her won't understand anything.
