Tear Jerker / Minions: The Rise of Gru

• Wild Kuckles genuinely saw the Vicious 6 as his dear friends, and was completely heartbroken when they betrayed him.
• Wild Knuckles giving up after the destruction of his home by the Vicious 6.
• Kevin, seeing Gru being kidnapped by Wild Knuckles' henchmen after firing the Minions and going off on his own, runs off after him but can’t catch the van, falling onto the ground in the rain, looking sadly as it drives off.
  • Really, the entire scene with Gru firing the Minions could definitely qualify. After Otto carelessly trades the Zodiac Stone for a pet rock at a child's birthday party, Gru, out of frustration with Otto's actions, fires the Minions as a whole, ordering them to be gone by the time he gets back with the Stone, even shouting at Otto to shut up when he tries to explain himself to Gru and defend the others from his mistake.
  • Then, when Kevin follows Gru upstairs and tries to reason with him, Gru calmly tells him that he's better off on his own while all Kevin can do is watch him leave alone, right before the aforementioned scene of him getting kidnapped.
  • All of this is not helped by the DJ Minion playing The Carpenters' "Goodbye to Love" immediately after Gru heads upstairs and the Minions sadly swaying to the tune, especially compared to moments earlier when they were happily partying to upbeat music.
