"My career as a detective is over!"
While usually a cheerful village, sometimes things do go wrong in Llan-ar-goll-en...
  • Anytime when Prys feels hopeless about being unable to solve the mystery in the occasions where his best friend Ceri isn't there by his side.
    • The earliest example of this happens in "Dirgelwch y Llythyr Coll", where Ceri is sick so she can't help him solve the mystery, and for a while, all seems hopeless.
Prys: No Ceri to help... and no clues. No idea... I'll never solve the mystery of the missing letter...
    • Also happens in "Bysedd y Cwn", where all of the animals in the village go missing, including Ceri. Prys is upset that Ceri isn't by his side to help him solve the mystery, and he declares that his career as a detective is over while sobbing on Dr. Jim's shoulder.
Prys: I can't go on without Ceri!! My best friend...
    • It's Played for Laughs in "Ble Mae Ceri?". Prys nearly breaks down once Ceri goes missing again, whining that he's nothing without her, only for it to be revealed that she was just using the restroom. It's actually shocking that he was able to keep it together the first time she went missing in that episode.
  • Also in "Dirgelwch y Llythyr Coll", Prys is noticeably upset when it seems like not even his best friend Ceri remembers his own birthday.
  • Caradog mentions that he lost his way searching for the lighthouse in "Bwystfil y Bont". He injured his paw, and it was so painful that he couldn't stop crying. That's not to mention that he was howling the whole episode while the others mistakenly thought that it was the beast of Bont... and we're shown a Flashback Cut of it.
  • In "O Na, Mrs Tomos!", Radli, Tara, and Mia are noticeably heartbroken when they think that Mrs. Tomos is actually going to be leaving the village.
    • In order to get her to stay, the three then resort to stealing Sugar Lump, Mrs. Tomos' beloved cat. This is unbeknownst to Tomos of course, so she's crying when she thinks that her cat is missing. Prys and Ceri are at least there to reassure her that they'll find him, and thankfully they do.
