A surprisingly sobering moment occurs near the end, where Franny sadly stands away from her classmates while the others stare at her and whisper. She just looks so sad. Mad Scientist or not, she's still just a little kid who wants to be friends.
Book 9: Recipe for Disaster
When Franny has to find a way to stop the Muffin Man and Igor is unable to help her due to falling under the spell of the Muffin Man's addictive muffins, she notes that she hasn't felt so alone before because of how used she is to always having Igor by her side.
All of the futures Franny shows to her friends where they're shown the consequences of letting their obsession with the Muffin Man's muffins consume them are pretty tragic, but Igor's future is especially sad because it emphasizes how he'll end up homeless and alone if he doesn't start giving up his muffin addiction.
He had no home, no muffins, and worst of all, no Franny. No Franny.
